having champagne, watching a star war
Oct. 27th, 2009 09:42 pmAD submitted his final project last night so he's officially done with class! He made cupcakes and we had a steak dinner. Now we're celebrating by lounging around and watching hours of TV (the last few weeks he's only been able to watch 30 minutes then he had to get back to his project). So far we've watched an episode of BSG (Bastille Day) and now we're about a third of the way through Empire Strikes Back (he tried to get me to watch LotR:FotR but I can't do hobbits until late Nov/Dec...that's the routine!).
We keep geeking out during the movie, discussing any random memory that pops into our head. So far we have discussed:
- ThinkGeek's upcoming Tauntaun sleeping bag
- How difficult Rogue Squadron and Rebel Assault were as early Star Wars video games (and how crappy they got on the Gamecube)
- How awesome Tie Fighter and X-Wing were (I was never in to flight simulators, but those were awesome! They need to bring them back)
- How they need to make another KOTOR (which I said they did, they just called it Mass Effect, and AD said that was one of the best RPGs ever)
- How I love the music in the asteroid field...
- how awesome the little flip is that Han does when he goes to fly into the asteroid/space slug hole.
- how lame the stupid additional wampa footage is - I mean, seriously, when the wampa was off screen it was way more intense. You just have Luke, dangling and freaking out. Now you get this cheesy guy in a wampa suit chewing on a big fake hunk of meat breaking up all the tension.
- how ESB is the sexiest star wars movie of the 6. I mean, seriously, the entire thing is shot so sexily (shut up, that's a word!) Everything is shiny and sleep and Leia & Han are bantering but Leia has pretty makeup on.
- they need to put these movies out on blu-ray, mostly for the sound to be remastered. We went from watching BSG, which was shot in hi-def, to ESB, and wow, youc an tell the difference. Or my ears can. It's crazy. You don't notice until you do something back to back...
We had to pause because AD remebered he was out of Benedryl, which helps him sleep at night, so he ran over to Exxon. He brought me back a Heath bar!
Anyway, back to the movie! I have a Furlough day tomorrow, so I get to stay home and not get paid, but oh well. Probably go to Kohls and spend the money I don't have.
OH! And my Little Frakkin' Colonial Starbuck just shipped today! When she arrives, I will post pictures. I'm not sure where she is gonna live yet...but I'm excited to have her!

How they need to make another KOTOR (which I said they did, they just called it Mass Effect, and AD said that was one of the best RPGs ever)

Date: 2009-10-29 02:59 am (UTC)Mass Effect 2 coming soon. My lazy ass needs to beat the game, I think I was a third of the way through when we got our red circle of death and lost everything (but I know you have it worse with your jerkwad brother deleting it all - so sorry about that, I didn't see anything on the news about xbox-related killings so I assume he lives)

Date: 2009-10-29 04:26 am (UTC)LOL yes he lives, though I make him feel guilty about it every chance I get. I still haven't decided what the ultimate revenge will be though.
Idk, I guess it's not all that bad, since it just gives me an excuse to play more, lol ;P (even if it is ridiculously time consuming)
