Yes, I was going to make the pasta sides and I had to boil water.....turn my back for one minute and it's boiling over....yeesh...my cooking skills are so low....I actually burned my clam chowder last week too....

actually, the trick to not having your pasta boil over is that most people don't use enough water. The water is there to absorb the starch that comes off the pasta. I never make pasta in less than a gallon of water. It takes a long ass time to come to a boil, but ya get good results.

Also, the trick of pouring vegetable oil in the water technically works to prevent boil-over, but then that oil coats the pasta and the sause doesn't stick to it as well.
