movie magic huh?
Jan. 25th, 2004 01:02 pmwe watched the entire 2nd disc of extra stuff for Two Towers yesterday. It was most of the production and post-production stuff. Anyhoo - get this:
One of my favorite scenes in that movie is when Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli find the pile of Orc carcuses and assume that Merry and Pippin have been killed. Aragorn kicks a helmet of an Orc across the plains and falls down to his knees while letting out a scream of anguish. Just good stuff. Gives me goose bumps.
Found out on the DVD today that when Viggo Mortenson kicked the helmet, he broke 2 of his toes, and that scream was brought on by the pain. Which probably explains the looks on Orlando and John Rhy-Davies faces.
Viggo is the man. I don't like him so much when he's cleaned up, he's one of the few actors I prefer "scruffy lookin'"
Another hilarious bit on the extras was when Andy Serkis accidentally yanked off Sean Astin's wig in one take. Sean had already been having a bad day, so when Andy did that, he tried to control himself by just silently walking off the set. In the clip on the DVD, you see Sean sort of storm off, and Elijiah Wood looks back at the camera with what can only be described as the "oh shit" face. hahaha. Adrian and I almost fell down laughing.
We were trying to do a puzzle we got for Xmas while watching all this last night. It seemed like it would take no time - 500 pieces, phhht. We started at about 10:30 and we didn't finish until about 2:15.....freaking hard puzzle! But fun. Now i want to buy another one!
Now I'm going to go fold the clothes I washed yesterday and perhaps watch some Season 4 of Buffy.....Toodles!
