Promise me you'll never be linear

We just watched the season finale of Buffy from Season 4 - "Restless". Joss talked about how he didn't want to do the big fighting finale as he had done the 2 seasons before. So instead, he did an entire episode based in the dream realm. Joss described it as attempting to write a 40 minute tone poem about the main characters on the show. Joss likes to write dreams and he's actually quite good at it. I mean, the entire episode is so weird, (and who the heck is the man with the cheese anyway!) but it was fascinating because, like any dream, it all made sense and you really didn't want to wake up.
This was the first time I'd watched season 4 since knowing about Dawn. And there are a few hints dropped about her coming in season 5 and also other plot lines of season 5. I love a show that can think ahead.
In other news - I replied to a post that andrew had about the new Mel Gibson movie "The Passion of the Christ". I was lamenting the fact that the movie has put many people on edge. I said how hard it would be to review the film because the reviewer would attempt to review the film and not insult anyone's religious beliefs. I was trying to express this concern and someone I don't even know replied to it and attacked me, pretty much validating my entire post. I haven't seen the movie and I really have no desire too, but I find the tensions it raises are quite interesting. Especially after reading Amanda's post earlier today about people who are "pro death penalty" and "pro life".
I dunno. It's all very interesting and a bit disturbing to me.
Okay Simpsons is on, enough with being deep. I'm gonna go laugh at Mr Plow.
