been a good few days!
Aug. 6th, 2011 04:43 pmSo, I cancelled my cable/DVR yesterday. I realized I hadn't turned the thing on all summer and I was wasting $25/month (it was a cable/internet bundle+DVR for $87, but the guy told me that internet alone would be $60). So I went and dropped it off and THE GODS OF THE INTERNET SMILED UPON ME FOR THESE WAS A SPECIAL! Yes, so now, instead of paying $87/month for all that other stuff, I'm just paying $20/month for internet! TWENTY DOLLARS! I was so excited!
I was quite proud of that. I, of course, had to share the good news on facebook/twitter because it was a big deal for me to 1) cancel my TV and 2) actually SAVE some money! I posted a bit about looking into Hulu Plus when the new TV shows start up again if only so I can stream it thru my Xbox to my TV and LO AND BEHOLD THE GHOST OF FRIENDS PAST SMILED UPON ME and my friend Danny, who I have not SEEN in person and who I only friended on facebook a year or so ago sent me a Hulu Plus code. Cool, I thought, a free month. Then I entered the code and it was FOR A WHOLE YEAR!!!!!!!! Seriously, how awesome is that??? I have heard of random acts of kindness but that was just above and beyond!
OH and then I went to Giant and took Perri's advice to shop the circular, which I never think to do because usually I'm just frakkin hungry, but anyway, I managed to get some healthy food and some meats on sale, plus some sandwich makings that should last me a couple months for under $70! w00t AGAIN! Just made artichokes for the first time ever (i.e. I boiled water and put them in the water for 30 minutes, this is my cooking skill level) and they were so yummy - it's a healthy lunchignore the fact that I smothered each leaf in melted butter
Good times. :-)

Date: 2011-08-07 12:29 pm (UTC)Haha I love artichokes, but I've never smothered them with buttered. We normally just drizzle some oil over it and put some oyster sauce but come to think of it, that isn't very healthy as well haha. :D
Glad you have some good days! Yay for happy days!
