OMG this song came on while we were driving today and I was having all kinda of flashbacks. I think my Dad bought this album on cassette (CASSETTE OMG) and I remember it was a *white* cassette and I used to listen to the whole album all the time and dance around.

I still know all the words even though it's probably been 20 years since I listened to this song...seriously.

EDIT: OMG I HAVE BEEN SUCKED INTO AN 80s NOSTALGIA WORMHOLE! I REGRET NOTHING!!!!!!!

([livejournal.com profile] faeriesfolly - you could totally cosplay Tiffany LOL! Let's get you a denim jacket for your next Con LOL!)

I listened to this album an embarrassing amount. I have a very clear memory of dancing around my friends WATER BED to this album...I think I accidentally cracked the case while we were dancing and I was so upset. LOL aw man...she did a terrible cover of "I Saw Her Standing There", which I didn't know was a cover until much later **shameful I know**

Indeed. Well they don't hold up as well over many, many uses.

A couple months ago it was looking like cassettes were going to be the next retro thing. It seemed like bands were releasing singles on them and selling them at shows and whatnot. But I just realized this has died down. I guess releasing something that no one can play didn't make any sense. Plus cassettes just flat out suck. All that fast forwarding and rewinding to find a song-- why did it take me forever to switch to CDs??

Yeah, they did not think that one through. Most of us still have CD players lying around and mp3 singles are cheaper...wonder how much it would cost to have a cassette made now?? Plus, wouldn't it make your band sound so...analog?

Because no one wants to buy their collection AGAIN! At least it's easy to transfer CDs to MP3s...Cassette to CD was not possible.

haha thanks!

We actually went to an 80s concert a couple months ago (The Legwarmers () was the band actually LOL) and it was SO MUCH FUN! Highly recommend going to one of their shows if you need to dance around to 80s music like a goofball. :)

80's nostalgia wormhole..Ha! I do that very often.

I loved a lot of Belinda Carlisle's stuff.

"I think We're Alone Now"(which is on my ipod) was a song that I fell in love with instantly and used to drive my brother crazy singing it.

80s NOSTALGIA.

That stuff is amazing. They had the most upbeat music ever. Do you remember Rhythm of the Night? Totally playing in my head now.
