I didn't get my ears pierced until I was 18.

My mom didn't want to get them pierced when I was a baby because she
thought that was weird (plus it was trendy at the time and my family is
always anti-trend...unless it's electronic LOL).

I was too scared of the pain, I don't like pain.

But my Uncle kept giving me earrings as gifts and I couldn't wear them so I
figured I better get them pierced! My friend Amanda went with me and I
held the big teddy bear and got it done and it hurt and I am never doing it
again.

Needless to say, I have no other piercings or tattoos - just can't deal
with the pain or the commitment!

I was older when I was finally allowed to get my ears pierced. I let them close up pretty quickly because I just couldn't get into them, despite how bad I originally wanted them done.

I'm a pain wuss but my tattoo on my wrist is pretty big and didn't hurt at all. I was so surprised. I talked horror movies and Stephen King novels (I've got the KA symbol) the entire time so I think that helped.

Lol yeah being distracted by babbling about Finnish stuff would definitely help. I'm so scared of getting a tattoo because so many of my heroes have failed me. I'm convinced the moment I get a Joss Whedon tattoo, he will become an axe murderer.

I've had so many ideas of stuff I wanted to get tattoos of and my dad busted my chops for getting a Stephen King one.

I was like DAD... it's so much more than that. And I got all cheesy talking about KA as fate and destiny. He just rolled his eyes.

Haha I had a co-worker when I worked retail, most beautiful girl, and she insisted on poking holed in her face! I don't know how she withstood the pain, she had them in her tongue, eyebrows, ears...crazy. I stub my toe and I get upset lol

Heh--I have an aunt who tends to give me earrings, even though my ears aren't pierced.

I really really wanted pierced ears when I was little, but my parents made a deal with me: Wait until you're thirteen. If you still want them, then we can do the piercing. By thirteen, I didn't care about pierced ears anymore. Parents--sometimes, they really do know stuff. :)

Are you me? I got mine pierced on my 18th birthday for the same reasons lol. It was so traumatic that as much as I want doubles..I am not doing it again.

I got my ears pierced when I was little, because my exact reasoning was that I wanted "pretties" in my ears like my mom. She agreed and we got it done at the mall. I don't recall being scared of the pain, the only thing that keeps being told to me was that I was really bothered by the loud noise the gun made after the first piercing. After walking around the mall to get me to calm down, we went back in to get the second one done and I was fine by then.

Though quite some time after getting them pierced I got an ear infection. I only got them re-pierced several years ago because I really wanted to wearing earrings again, heh.

I do want to get a tattoo sometime, but I think the problem for me is that I'm incredibly indecisive about what I want and where it should go. My mind changes all the time and, while piercings can close up, tattoos are permanent (and it's more costly and more painful to get one removed.) So I go back and forth on that idea.

Yeah, that is why I could never get a tattoo...my interests and fandoms change so much. The only thing that is a constant would be my name "orangerful" lol. :)
