We had a little bit of snow in Maryland today. Not enough to get a late opening though, boo. I was so ready to sleep in.

Anyway, it's Friday and I don't feel like working much so I figure I'll post a question for you all to answer so I can get some emails in my inbox:

Who is your go-to band/musician? That band that you know every. single. song. And when you just don't know what to listen to, they always fit the bill.

Mine will always been The Beatles. I've loved them since 8th grade (click on the tags to read all my rambles). I feel like there is an album for every mood - the early ones are so poppy and fun, the middle years so wild
and weird, and then those mature later albums that are perfect for days like today ('Because from Abbey Road came on my iPod this morning while driving into work and it just felt to right with the gray skies and white snow on the ground...)

So, who is your go to band? The band that makes you only think of happy thoughts? :)

(We'll do another post for go-to songs, those can be different bands, I have a few of those right now haha)

I agree! It's definitely the Beatles for me as well. Even the more zen/depressing songs cheer me up just because they're so familiar. It just feels like I'm wrapping myself up in a cozy blanket.

My favorite song used to be Happiness is a Warm Gun (no idea why) but I'm not sure what it is now.

EXACTLY! I get so giddy when I'm playing Beatles Rock Band and singing along to my favorite songs. And when they come up on shuffle on my iPod, I have that same cozy blanket feeling. :)

My all time favorite is still "If I Fell" -- love the song, the harmonies...Hard Day's Night might be my favorite album, though that can change with my mood LOL

Go to bands? I don't really have any specific bands that I listen to for lifting my moods. And for bands I turn to when I just don't know what to listen to, and that I know every single song, it would be hard to narrow it down to one. For me it would be Green Day and Lifehouse.

I can see dancing around to Green Day and Lighthouse being a good release. I have a handful of "classic" songs by them in my iTunes. (Though I totally associate "Everything" by Lighthouse with Smallville, Clark/Lana) :)

I LOVE that song, but I've never seen "Smallville."

It's a three-way tie between The Prodigy, The Crystal Method, and Daft Punk for me.

LOL okay I read that too fast and didn't read the word "tie" and I was having the weirdest mental image ever...mostly because Daft Punk is always in costume :P

I was at the library this morning! But I didn't know you were there :C I left really early for school thinking there was going to be a lot of traffic but there was nothing! So I had like, 40 minutes to kill xD

I don't know that I have a go-to band? It kind of depends on what mood I'm in, but I don't think I have one big one. Mayyyybe Coldplay, but their last album... eh. Still, I do love me some Coldplay.

I think I was in the back pouting about how I had to come to work on time and it was cold and I NEED SNOW DAYS!

I loved the first two Coldplay albums, never listened to X&Y enough, Viva La Vida was good but, at the time, there was a Coldplay ban in my apartment (note: never date a guy who bans a band you like from rotation) but I did put the new one on my iPod. :)

I liked the first two but I LOVE X&Y. I might say it is my favorite, lol. I like the sorta sci-fi robot-y themes in it. I love Viva La Vida/Prospekt's March a lot too. I think I like those two more than the first two because I actually got them when they were happening? X&Y was my first "real" Coldplay album. And I got A Rush of Blood to the Head and Parachutes sorta after the fact so I didn't have the time with them that I did with the others.

Coldplay ban?! :C

I know, right? I should have broken up with him for THAT! Def. a red flag!

Hm...maybe I'll give ol' X&Y a real listen. Perhaps I didn't give it a chance at the time.
