My Librarian has survived 15 days now! Her sanity is always really low though, since she already knew everything to begin with it's hard to find stuff to invent to give her a boost and that's the only way I really know to increase sanity. She did manage to befriend two of the Pigs and they helped defend her when the wolves attacked on night 10. (I won't lie, I totally thought about killing them in their sleep to get their precious skins but decided they would be more helpful alive...for now) I did die once when her sanity dropped so low that one of the dark monster blobs attacked her. **tear** Haven't found another respawn stone yet.

In other news, Tim played for, like, the third time today and he found Maxwell's Door! WTF! I've never found the door before and he is just like "oh what's this?" He doesn't have the skillz like I do yet though so not sure how long he'll survive in there.

I watched the premiere of The Flash which was okay. I haven't watched a CW show in awhile and I forgot how PRETTY everyone is. Doesn't matter WHO you are on a CW show, you must be GORGEOUS in a very marketable way. I was also highly amused that the one geek was wearing Big Bang Theory t-shirts in two separate scenes. Did they originally try to sell this show to ABC? LOL.

OH OH and one of my librarian friends had her Facebook page DELETED by Facebook this week because she didn't use her "real name". Um, my Facebook name is currently "orangerful" yet no one has said anything to me. I'm really hoping they delete the page, I will rejoice in being free and I will never sign up again.

Watched the livestream of the Hannibal Paleyfest coverage which was fun and OMG it really made me miss that show. Started following the NBCHannibal tumblr to get a little fix which made me realize the library has yet to get season 2 on DVD! I have seen all the episodes but I NEED COMMENTARY! Especially since there is still no official premiere date for Season 3. **DIES**

Went to Kohls 3 times in the past week. First time was all for Tim and Sylvia. Second time I went to get some Kohls Cash earned. And today I went and spent said Kohls cash. I'm pretty much set for Fall/Winter clothes now, though I do desperately need a jacket and maybe some brown boots to go with the brown pants I bought.

Does anyone have a favorite site for jackets? I want to get another nice long warm peacoat and that covers my butt.

This post is getting long, I will save my American Horror Story thoughts for later. :)

I let my GoDaddy account expire today. Honestly, I wanted to swtich web services as soon as that terrible Super Bowl commercials aired by since I had already paid them, I just turned off auto-renew instead. After tomorrow orangerful.com will be no more.

I'm trying to decide if I care. I really liked having my own website, even if I hardly every did anything with it. It started out as a place to store and organize all of the livejournal icons I was making on a regular basis back at the height of LJ's popularity. I've toyed with the idea of making it into an online resume or a personal hub of all my social networks but I can't decide if anyone would care besides me...and maybe my mom LOL.

[livejournal.com profile] duncatra posted on her Wordpress blog about the end of Google Reader which lead to a discussion about using Livejournal as an RSS reader. Livejournal used to be my ONLY site. If it wasn't on here, if it didn't have an RSS feed I could have sent to my friends page, I didn't see it.

Then all the mainstream social sites started to take over. Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr...being a social media addict, I had to try them all and now I check them daily. Unliked Livejournal, they require a lot less of me. You read a sentence, look at a picture, click "Like" and move on. Honestly, I want more interaction, I want conversations and I can't seem to get those on these sites (I've pondered creating a more "bloggy" tumblr but I don't find it as readable). I started up THREE Wordpress blogs in an attempt to keep myself motivated to write and I get some "Likes" over there and occasional comments but nothing substantial.

I guess I keep thinking that having a website helps me bring all these things to one place, even if the only person that goes to that one place is me (and, like I said, maybe my mom). Plus, it's just cool to have your own domain...isn't it? Is that cool anymore? LOL.

Right now I'm looking at 1&1, Wix, and Squarespace. I think 1&1 is the least expensive...though maybe I should see if I do anything with the free part first before I upgrade with an official domain.

Do you guys have your own websites? Do you feel as scattered as me?

So, I had avoided Facebook games for a LONG time. I was a "real" gamer, so the idea of playing some silly Farmville game never entered my mind. But earlier this year, EA launched Sims Social for Facebook and my Sims addiction over-rode my Facebook game phobia.

There's definitely a snobbery among gamers. That those who played the simple Facebook flash-based games were not "real gamers". But I think that is unfair. I think many people just didn't have access to video games and playing them on Facebook or on phones makes them more acceptable. Plus, most FB/phone games are meant to be done in small pieces, so you can do a quick game while on your lunch break. I'll admit, it's quite nice to get a quick fix for five minutes while I'm eating my sandwich.

I just wish that all of these games were web-based but not FB based. I'd rather play with strangers on Sims Social and get through the game. But I guess the whole business model for these games is to pull people in, make them hit a wall and hope that they will pay actual money to advance.

That's where it gets ridiculous for me. I will not give you real money for a fake game money. I clicked on the Sims Cash the other day, just curious what sort of micro-transactions they were doing and was just SHOCKED that they offered a bundle for $200. TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS????? Are people really dropping that much cash on Sims Social?????

But this seems to be the model now. I downloaded Sims Freeplay for my iPad and a few other "free" games, but eventually you click through and find these actual money parts and it's like "really? Is this happening?"

I think that is where the "real" gamer/FB gamer line is drawn. I feel like someone who has played video games for a long time, is used to buying a full game and playing until done, they say "what? LOL no." while those less experienced might actually pay real money.

I don't know, I can't figure it out. But it must be happening because these games just keep coming!

...

Also if anyone is on FB and wants to play Sims Social with me, I NEED MORE FRIENDS! Frakking thing only works if you have tons of FB friends who ALSO game. And they try to tell you to just add random people and I'm like WHAT? NO this is FACEBOOK, I'm not adding people I don't know! They need to make it not FB, just EA based, lord knows they must have the money for servers, COME ON!

Then I got Sims: Freeplay for my iPad/iPhone (also available on Android!) hoping to get away from that and now they've integrated that in to FB (argh!). That doesn't really effect gameplay too much, just can't get free stuff from the party boat.

Now with Sims:Showtime, you can send your sims to other people's towns to perform. I've actually managed to find a couple people via GetGlue who needed friends. So yesterday I was all set to send my Sim on the road and I found out she has to have someone else living in the house with her! WHAT? I can send my Sim on vacation, no problem, but to go on tour, she has to have a room mate? So now she is spending time trying to seduce some other guy because there's not enough space for two platonic people in that shack, but if it's a LOVE shack, they'll be fine. LOL.

I had a little nerd-gasm when I saw this in my email box:

Oh yeah, Bill and I go waaaaaaaay back...

It's just from his official website fan page but still...it cracks me up that the email actually says that HE accepted me.

Blah, I don't want to go back to work tomorrow. I need to level up my Elf Rogue and then start Uncharted 2! No time for this "work" stuff.

At least it's only 3 days this week. Then an extra long weekend!
