video game problems

There needs to be a Sniglet for when you've been away from a video game for awhile and you try to jump back into it and your just shite at the controls so you die over and over and have to contemplate restarting.
I completed the main storyline for Tomb Raider a few weeks ago. It was my Christmas present game so I have been working on it since Dec 25. Today, I attempted to go back to some other games.
lostacanthus and I were trying to think of things we could do together then blog about and she suggested playing Dragon Age and blogging about our characters and experiences. So I thought I would fire up Awakenings for a little bit and see how it went.
Badly. It went badly. The Darkspawn wiped me out 5 times in a matter of minutes. It would have been over sooner if the loading screens went by faster.
So I thought I would go back to Dishonored, which I started a little bit before Christmas. Unfortunately, I left myself right in the middle of things and have forgotten ALL of the controls. After playing a trigger happy adventure game like Tomb Raider, going back to a game that emphasizes stealth was a bad idea. I accidentally fired my crossbow while trying to crouch, used up my health stuff, and instead of disarming a bomb, I set one off right in my face, causing the entire group of thugs around the corner to find me. **sigh**
I think I might have to just scrap it and start from scratch so I can relearn the controls in the easy environment. Dragon Age...well, I might have to really go back to the beginning there. Or at least finish my game in DA1 so I can import my warrior dwarf Warden.
