April questions bring May flowers...

Here I've been begging and pleading to get questions for April and what do I do? Completely miss the first day.
In my defense it was BEAUTIFUL outside and we decided to go for a run around Kinder Park (which is about 2 miles, we run/walk) and we haven't been for a run since November so I was pretty wiped when we got home and then we made dinner and watched C.O.G. (which I did not like AT ALL UGH! LONGEST. 93 MINUTES. EVER.) and after that we were so drained that all we could do was drink chai and watch an episode of Bob's Burgers in the hopes of getting that horrible movie out of our brains.
So you get TWO questions today! I know you're excited!
rogueslayer452 asked "What is something that has recently made you happy?" -- if you had asked me this yesterday, I probably would have mentioned the Outreach visit a few weeks ago and the little girl that came into the library to find my afterwards. BUT since I'm answering today, I'm going to point to the the storytime I did today and that SAME little girl was there and she came right up to me and said "Miss Sam!" and showed me her teddy bear craft and she was SO FREAKIN' ADORABLE! Storytime is always stressful and exhausting but little moments like that make it all worth it. If the kids are happy and had fun, I'm happy.
hellonelo asked "What is your vision for our future? Do you want us to progress in space travel and perhaps one day live on another planet if it's possible?" -- That is a good question. I'm not sure if we as a species has earned the right to live on other planets yet. We're doing pretty poorly at taking care of this one so I'm not sure I want to encourage anyone colonizing another planet until we have reached that higher level that Star Trek aspires to.

Date: 2014-04-02 10:02 pm (UTC)I just started watching a bit of "Bob's Burgers" lately. I was reading an interview with the lead actor from "Archer" and was surprised that he was the lead voice for BB as well, so I decided to check it out just to see if the voice was the same. Which it is, and is kind jarring at first. But Mike and I found it amusing overall so have caught a few first season episodes.

Date: 2014-04-03 12:22 am (UTC)I agree with your answer to the second question. We should deal as best we can with the literal mess we've made of this planet before we start living on another one--and if we do, we need to practice all the good stewardship we've been learning (well, many humans/countries, anyway) here.
