First teaser for American Horror Story: Freak Show

We watched The Conjuring tonight and there were a few scenes that made me think of Season 1 of this series. And then look what shows up in my facebook feed!

I sorta loved The Conjuring and I'm not really a horror story person. I know that sounds silly because I just said I'm excited about AHS, but most of the typical horror that is churned out by Hollywood doesn't appeal to me as it tends to go more for splatter and shock rather than a good scary story. Conjuring was a ghost story, based on true events, just enough to make my heart race, my hair stand on end, and even cover my eyes a few times. But the ending was satisfying and it all made sense even after the credits had rolled. I guess I prefer horror that is more psychological. And I think I like ghost stories more than crazy murdering monsters.

ANYWAY - AMERICAN HORROR STORY! Are you a fan? I really loved Season 1 and 3, though I never did finish Season 2 (felt they went too far with the shock and lost sight of the story). What do you think about Season 4 premise?

Aww maaaan. I saw The Conjuring at the cinema, and was completely blown away. It's a modern horror masterpiece, I love it so much! (then again, I really do love my horror, hahahah). It just has a kind of craftsmanship that is rare for horror these days. If you liked it, I would really recommend Insidious - it's by the same director. SO GOOD. Unghhhh.

I've been keeping up with American Horror Story, but it's had its ups and downs. I enjoyed the first half-ish season or so of the first season, still came back for more for the second season and enjoyed that a whole lot more. The third season blew everything out of the water, and I think I'll pick that up on blu-ray when it's released here. I haven't seen the trailer for the fourth season yet, but I absolutely love the the setting! It sounds perfect.
