Oh my goodness, that was SO MUCH FUN!

I will admit, I was freaking out as we stood in line for our first little mini-zip. I had been discussing this adventure with my friend at work and she pointed out that ziplines and rollercoasters have things in common and suddenly I was scared! But once I got through the first two zips, it was SO FUN! Crazy. But FUN! I'm so glad I did it. It was an amazing way to experience Harper's Ferry National Park.

Oh, and this icon is SO appropriate. They had us walk up one bridge and it was so wobbley and had a few large gaps, all I could think of was Shortround hollering at Indy.

The guides from River Riders were an awesome bunch. They were very friendly and personable, silly but still professional. They knew how to put everyone at ease and they checked up on all of us every time we landed safely. They took safety VERY seriously. If a coupon arrived in the mail for a free zipline, I would totally go again. If you're looking for a place to go for this sort of outdoor excursion, I think you will be happy with River Riders.

But now it's time to save up my money for a different adventure - San Francisco! Just a month away!

I've never been either! I went to San Diego in 2010 but it was for Comic-Con so I didn't really go anywhere outside of the convention center area. Tim's friend from high school just moved out to SanFran last year so as a birthday present for Tim I bought us tickets to go visit him. Looking forward to it! Already know we have to go to the Redwoods area to see where Return of the Jedi was filmed LOL :)

Glad you had fun! When I went zip-lining with my family I thought my mom was going to have a heart attack but like you after the first few goes she was golden.

I'm a total adrenaline junkie- zip lining was a little too tame for my preference, but it was a fun family activity on our trip to the jungle. :)

I was worried I would freak out but I just avoided looking straight down at all costs, which actually wasn't that hard to do. Looking straight ahead, I could see the beautiful park and the Potomac river and had no need to look in any other direction. :)

I have zip-lining on my 101 in 1001 list! There are apparently a bunch of places in Orlando to do it, so PHEW.

It was so fun! I suggest talking a few friends into going with you because then you can cheer for each other. I never would have gone if it had not been for Carol saying it was on her list of things to do so I'm grateful for having an (insane) friend. haha!

It was really easy not to look down, everything you wanted to see was straight out. The scariest part was the bridge and the first ladder, after which I never looked directly down again!

It looks fun and takes guts to do.

I was going to do it but changed my mind, as I'm a bit afraid of heights, and there was a long ladder to climb up to the platform as well (I've never climbed a ladder higher than a few steps).

The ladders were the scariest part!!! But you're strapped into them just like you were to everything else, but yeah.

I didn't think I was either but I made it! You might surprise yourself. Just drag some friends along with you and promise yourself ice cream at the end (omg we had home-made chocolate peanut butter cup, it was ooooooo rich)
