earworm of the day

A patron just asked if we have the DVD of the musical CATS...and now I have
Mr Mistoffelees stuck in my head...

...and we all say oh well I never was there ever a cat so clever as
magical Mister Mistoffelees...

SO ready for my vacation. The last few days have been hectic
(UNDERSTATEMENT) with Tim's parents in town with their two grandkids. We
fly out for San Francisco tomorrow morning at 6:40 AM which means we have
to be at BWI by 5:30 AM. BUT Tim's parents wanted to go out to dinner
tonight with us...and Tim's ex-wife.

Yeah, so ready for the west coast retreat. :P

Hello Awkward! Whose brilliant idea was that, and also--why? Still, SF is a pretty chill place. I love it out there. Hopefully you'll find some way to enjoy yourself regardless, yes?

OH, but speaking of hectic--we've had a new Circ desk installed at our branch. But the computers/phone/cash register/credit card machine weren't installed along with it. SO we gerry-rigged one of the self-check out stations as a temporary Circ desk for the entire weekend AND Monday. Yeesh! Finally got all the electronic whatsits put together this afternoon. It's been nuts. Because the patrons don't know there's nothing at the desk, so they keep wandering over, and we keep steering them back, and they get all confused--it was weird.

But the new desk is lovely, and FAR superior to the old one (SO MUCH ROOM!), so it's ultimately a good thing.
