My response to the "List ten books that have stayed with you in some way" meme going around. (I mean, face it, if I actually OWN a book, it's kind of a big deal for me since Librarian).

One of the few books I actually read cover to cover in 12th grade AP English. And I think it was the first time I finished reading an assigned book in school and was like "Whoa...yeah that's a classic". I think I've read it once again but I feel like I need to re-read it (I also discovered I have two copies of it...really have to double check my shelves before I raid the donations pile at work LOL)

haha, you're welcome! (and omg I was so OCD about the stack, had to arrange them biggest to smallest...I think Tim was wondering what the heck I was up to on the floor in my room)

TSK TSK!!! I think it's Crichton's best book, and I read a LOT of them. It's a really quick read, plus you'll be an expert on chaos theory by the end! :D

Thank you! Hitchhiker's and Jurassic Park have been through a lot with me. I've been dragging them around everywhere since I was 12. The others are newly acquired to my personal library so they are in very good shape but, then again, I can't quote them on demand. :D

I just wanted to say that I love your list, love that you posted a photo, and laughed because I'm the same exact way about owning books. Normally, if I own something, it's because I've borrowed it from the library and want to read it again (so then I buy it).

YES!

Hitchhiker's and Jurassic Park I read in middle school, so those I did own. Every other book in that pile was acquired after I read it. I only buy books so I can force other people to read them LOL.

So much easier than typing. :D Plus, you can tell how much they are loved by the level of abuse they have survived haha. And those books apply to any top ten list that goes around for me so I'll just cheat and reuse that image for the rest of the memes... ;-)

I Love how tattered your copy of Hitchhiker's Guide is, clearly reread a zillion times!
