books read in March
Mar. 30th, 2015 10:08 pmWas having a hard time finding something to read this month after I finished Red Dragon. It was so intense and horrifying but I could not put it down. And now, after much trying of other books I've had checked out since January, I ended up ordering a copy of Silence of the Lambs and started that.
Here are the few pathetic titles I managed to read in March:
Red Dragon by Thomas Harris
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Well, that did not end the way I expected it to at all! This has to be one of the most disturbing books I've ever read. I understand why Bryan Fuller gushes about Harris' writing though, it is SO HARD TO PUT DOWN! Also, Hannibal is barely even in here LOL. So funny to think of him as this minor, forgettable character.
I want to read 'Silence of the Lambs' next but at the same time, I AM SCARED!
My Little Pony: Applejack and the Honest-to-Goodness Switcheroo by G.M. Berrow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I feel like the My Little Pony books are really high quality for TV show titles. I am impressed by the level of the writing and the humor. You can tell that Berrow works on the show and knows her stuff!
Applejack does what a lot of us do in our private spaces - vents about frustrations. Yeah, sometimes it feels good to vent and after that she is able to examine what was bothering her. You knew pretty quick where the story was going, we've all seen this story before, but I was happy that the tension only lasts a couple chapters at the end and there is no big fight or drama. Just an honest apology from A.J. and her friends understanding.
Beware of the Frog by William Bee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
If your kids crack up at the Killer Rabbit sequence in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, than this book is comedy gold! I LOVED IT! We were all giggling. So sad that it appears to be out of print.
