YAY!!!! I CAN FEEL MY PRODUCTIVITY DROPPING AS I TYPE!

I mean, seriously, I should be getting ready for work right now but oh look at all the Idea Channel videos I haven't watched and the Facebook feed I haven't browsed...

I'm not even going to open Tumblr or I will never make it to work at all.

We need to fix the outlet in the computer room though, as the plug for the router came loose over night and I couldn't connect the Xbox to the Wifi, so my plan to watch "Scream Queens" this morning went out the window.

We DID watch the new Muppets pilot last night and I thought it was pretty amusing. I'm going to watch more. I know I laughed several times.

We also watched The Wind Rises, which was beautiful on so many levels. The story, the hand-drawn animation, the voice acting (Japanese because I really like hearing Japanese...)...anyway, it was good.

My nose is still runny but I'm improving. I have a program tonight for parents about video games. We don't usually get big turnouts for adult programs but I've been trying to promote it so we will see...

I enjoyed the muppets too and will be giving the next few episodes a watch. It's a different approach to Kermit, in that he was snarkier but I liked it. Scream Queens is another one I want to check out but I haven't had the chance yet.

It's funny because in th original series, Kermit and Piggy are never a couple. She flirts with him and he tends to avoid her. Then the movies happened and they were a couple though we never really saw them on the best of terms. Now the new show has them split...and I assume the intention is to get them back together. I don't know I'd their relationship has ever been a healthy one.

Scream is actually done for the season - I can't even remember when it started but it finished earlier this month. It was really good! I enjoyed it a lot!

I saw The Wind Rises at the cinema, and it was so beautiful. If you enjoyed it, I really recommend The Kingdom of Dreams and Madness which is a documentary about Studio Ghibli, filmed during the production of The Wind Rises. So good!!!

I'm gonna give it a chance, I really have no idea what it is about, it's just the people behind it that have me intrigued. I do want to see Minority Report though - is that off to a good start? I loved that movie.

The muppets concept, at least from the ads, wasn't sitting well with me, but I thought maybe it was just me being a purist or something. But I've been reading scathing reviews. But you're saying it wasn't so bad?

If they were expecting the wit and charm of the original series, they were delusional. Henson is gone and none of the original cast are involved. I thought the show did what the last few Muppet movies have done best - take aim at pop culture and poke. It wasn't high art but I chuckled a few times. I definitely want to watch and see how it progresses. I think there is room to grow which is good. It's not The Muppet Show, and if you compare them, you will hate it. It's just a new show with The muppets.
