Was feeling tired when I got home today so I lied on the couch and gave the pilot of Scream Queens a try. I think I'm going to pass on that one. It's just not grabbing me - I found it neither scary or funny, just dumb. Best scene was Ariana Grande's big moment. The KKT girls are just too awful, I can't enjoy it. And even the "hero" girl is just kind of meh.

The Grinder, on the other hand, was a total surprise and very funny. I'm not quite sure how this premise can survive a 24 episode run, but we will definitely tune in next week.

the muppets was also pretty good. Josh Groban is such a good sport. Also, because of Hannibal any time Laurence Fishburne shouts, it makes me happy.

Bob's burgers is back! Premiere wasn't the best ever, but the fact that it was called "sliding bobs", a reference to one of my favorite movies, gave it extra points. And Tina's alternate universe was hilarious and made the episode.

American Horror Story is back this week! Can't wait to be terrified of hotels lol.

Okay, sleep time, ttyl lovelies!

Louise's reactions were hilarious, I really love Kristen Schaal. Scream Queens just didn't get there for me. I could see what they were trying to do but I felt like they missed the mark.

I feel like Scream Queens could have been better with a bit more of a Heathers/Jawbreaker feel and less...Ryan Murphy, you know? I don't mind satirical dark comedies, hell I live for them, but only when they're done right and in a smart way. This, unfortunately, is not that.

I totally agree. I felt like I could see the target and I just spent an hour watching the arrows fly around it, never hitting a bullseye. I just didn't like anyone and felt no real reason to tune in.

I ended up surprised at liking "Scream Queens." I LOL several times.

I really enjoyed the premiere of "Bob's Burgers." Very cute and funny.

I couldn't get into Scream Queens either, I think mostly because it was so campy that there was no realism there at all? I enjoyed Heathers, but at least Winona's character brought genuine heart to it when she's freaking out at the deaths, with Scream Queens I just didn't buy it when all of the pledges went along with burying the body of a maid who has her face burnt off in front of them! There were a couple of scenes and lines that gave me a chuckle, but it's not a show for me when I can't get attached to any of the characters

You're right! There was no "grounded" character, no one to truly represent the audience. No one was "real". It just made me want to watch AHS: Coven again...

LOL You're welcome! I was stalking all my favorite show's websites to find out when they were back and I was so happy to see they weren't going to make us wait for Bob like they did last year!

If I hadn't been feeling sorta drained/blah and too lazy to move, I would have stopped watching halfway. It felt so loooooooong. At one point, I thought it was a 2 hour premiere because I was so bored LOL

"The Grinder" is on my to-watch list so I'm glad to hear it was good! I wasn't 100% convinced by the promo but you know, Rob Lowe.

I wasn't sure either. I started to watch it while I was home alone, to test it out, but found myself cracking up within the first few minutes so I stopped it to watch with Tim. It was such a pleasant surprise!

Josh Groban presents
Up Late with Miss Piggy

That was genius, Kermit, ge-nius!

Also, yeah, Laurence Fishburne. He's in ABC's Black-ish, so now I want Constance Wu from Fresh Off the Boat to also make an appearance on The Muppets, and maybe someone from OUAT and someone from Agents of SHIELD. So many possibilities... :-)

CROSSOVER ALL THE THINGS!!!!!!!

I should really give Black-ish a try, I've heard lots of good stuff about it.

No doubt! Honestly, with wedding and house stuff I'm surprised you have room to think about anything else! Both of those are so flipping exciting!

I've read a lot of people are offended at the content of Scream Queens, it sounds like it's trying to put down everyone but not quit hitting that mark so it's coming off as offensive rather than funny. It's a pass for me as well.

I liked the second episode of The Muppets more than the first. It was well done :)

Haven't watched Bob's Burgers yet and I'll probably wait on AHS and will binge when it ends in February :)

Emma Roberts' character is supposed to be the most awful person ever so she is every -cist you can imagine. It is disgusting and the problem is that no other character balances her out. Well, one of the many problems....

One of my friends tried to explain it to me because they like the show but to me that's just lazy writing and it allows the writers to say all kinds of offensive things and say "but it's a joke so it's okay, you're supposed to hate her." But as you say, it's not balancing out. Sure she's terrible but she's also getting lots of screentime and her views aren't being challenged. I expect she's not going to learn a lesson ever. She may get killed in the season finale, or pretend to go nice to get out of being killed. But the character hasn't been set up as one who will actually change. She'll go on being rewarded for being terrible.

It was really the only scene that they pulled off...but if that was the kind of humor they were going for, they did not make it consistent throughout the episode.

Yeah. They should have. Honestly... my dvr recorded the third episode but I don't know if I want to watch it though from what I've been hearing. And they seem to shade Taylor Swift a lot. the 'deaf Taylor Swift' one. And recently, posted on Ohnotheydidnt, was a video of Emma Roberts's character Chanel making fun of how Taylor Swift gave gifts to some of her fans in 2014.

Hahahhaha, I love Scream Queens. It was a title mentioned in passing during the Emmys, and I wanted to check it out because of Jamie Lee Curtis and... the title of the show. :x I've come to describe it as American Horror Story meets Animal House meets Police Squad. I think it's hilarious.

The Muppets was great. I barely remember the original as I was so young when I saw it. Loving this new series.

I am looking forward to American Horror Story
