I have a few of the old X-Files comics from the 90s, making of the movie book, and the complete shooting script for the first movie. I don't need or want them anymore. If you can cover shipping, I'll send them to you.

I also have Season 1 on DVD which I am considering selling because I honestly just get too angry watching it...make me an offer?

Coming up next: Star Wars Toys. Does anyone have a kiddo (or know a kiddo) that would love some Star Wars toys? Mostly prequel era, already opened because I had them on display for awhile. Now they are sitting in a box feeling very unloved. I also have duplicate Galactic Heroes and the Mini-Unleashed figures...I'll try to get some pics together if anyone things they would be interested?

I'm curious - why does s1 make you angry?

It's like looking at the photographs of an ex. The photo might be from when you first started dating, and everything was exciting and new and amazing, but looking at the photo, you just think of all the things that happened after, how they let you down, how you thought things were going one way but it was all LIES LIES LIES!!!!!!

So, yeah, as much as I loved those episodes, I can't look at them now without thinking about what a cluster the rest of the series became.

X-Files was my first real, serious fandom and it broke my heart. But then I found Buffy and while it had some rough patches, I never felt abused or mislead by the show, Joss cares about me! Chris Carter was only ever worried about getting another season.

UGH STILL SO BITTER HE SAID THE FIRST MOVIE WOULD BE THE FINALE BUT NOOOOOO

I wasn't into the X-Files in its heyday, but I can definitely empathise, having been screwed over by other fandoms. (Enter timely icon.)

I'm sorry it burned you. :/

OMG YOUR ICON YES!!!!!!!!! LOST made me SO ANGRY! It was X-Files all over again. Years of LIES! Telling me that they had it all planned out, no it's not purgatory that would be ridiculous! UGH! (oddly I had season 1 of that on DVD too but luckily it was a freebie so I didn't have a hard time parting with it)

Lost. Was. Terrible. They were legit making it up as they went. Have you ever seen that Unanswered Questions video on Youtube about Lost? Brilliant.

I had to get rid of my first season of Lost .. because .. same reasons as you with the X-files, it just made me TOO ANGRY even though I know s1 was pretty good.

(your icon is the best, I say that every time we drive to Wisconsin LOL)

LOST cemented my theory that any show that STARTS with an amazing first season is doomed to fail because they will be out of ideas. Show with slightly shaky first seasons have more room to grow and improve.

Haha, do you! Perfect.

I feel like the writers of Lost listened too much to the noise on the internet and let fan theories and ideas interfere with their script. (Like the Nikki and Paolo debacle.)

I'm now suspicious of shows that introduce too much sparkly mystery too soon.

Oh, I read the previous comments. I figured actually, it is not about it per se, but what it makes you think of.

Is the making of the movie book from the first movie?

Yup, from the "Fight the Future", it's a slim little thing. This is what I have (http://jonathansxfilescollection.weebly.com/uploads/8/8/6/5/8865047/1997265_orig.jpg)

Okay cool, not the same one that I have.

Do you know how much postage would be for that and the shooting script to England? Or possibly just the script? I know it'll probably be quite expensive :/

Looks like shipping to the UK will probably be at least $25 - I'm just guessing based on the USPS price list. :-\

I asked a friend of mine that is interested (she LOVES X-files). She wondered what shipping would be. Her username on here is [livejournal.com profile] missmonk if you want to PM her the info. :)
