Anyone play Sims 4?

Origin has Sims 4 on sale for 50% off and I am very tempted to get it. But when it was released, there was lots of debate over the quality and that was a year and probably at least 12 patches ago. Do any of you play? Is it worth it?

I was kinda scared to get it with all the glitch bitching people were doing. I might would spring for it at half off though.

Not tried it. I played Sims 1, 2 and 3, but I just never got around to 4. I've heard some good things about it though. People who complain are generally the people who haven't liked the Sims since 2, or who really loved Toddlers and pools who are apparently not present in this edition.

I also hear you have to be online all the time to play, and that Maxis just automatically uploads new stuff into your game folders, like new content. But perhaps that can be turned off?

You'd think MAXIS would have learned after all the outrage from Sim City that "always on" makes people annoyed. I read that they have put out a new patch every month since the launch, some fixing glitches and other adding new gameplay elements.

Ever since I upgraded to Windows 10, Sims 3 doesn't work as well. And EA apparently has no intention of fixing it because they want you to buy Sims 4.

I've got it and I love it. I haven't experienced any game glitches, but some of the game features are not as cool as what I was used to with TS3. BUT ALSO IT IS BEAUTIFUL and for 50% off YES YES YES DO IT.

I have 300+ hours racked up in Sims 3, which is the best in the franchise. Most of my joy comes from architecture and interior design. My inner gay fanboy comes out to play when I get to build houses and furnish them with style and panache.

I was disappointed in 4. It's mostly concerned with how your Sims *feel* all the time. I bought it on a 50% discount and that was the only reason I didn't feel cheated.

Yeah, it's 50% off so $30 which seems like a good deal and according to CamelCamelCamel that is lower than it has been on Amazon.

Are you on Windows 10? Ever since I upgraded to 10, my Sims 3 won't work properly. I tried some workarounds, like bypassing the launcher and playing in Windows XP Compatability mode but it feels really glitchy now. :-\

i got a new laptop for Christmas (Mac, not windows though), and when i saw it was 50% off, jumped on it. and i think it's definitely worth it. i've only been playing for a few days, but it's fun. it's definitely a departure in some ways, and i feel like i'm needing to adjust my playstyle a little bit accordingly, but i've been having a blast. (it's pretty much all i did during the day on Saturday.)

I'm going to put Sims 4 on hold, mostly because I don't feel like I played Sims 3 enough to get my money's worth so I spent the afternoon troubleshooting my Windows 10 problems :) It works now so I can torture my Sims with all the expansion packs I bought...and then I somehow got hooked on Sims Freeplay again on my iPad LOL. :)
