buffy rewatch thoughts

We watched the first episode of the second season of Buffy, 'When She Was Bad' and I have to say, this might be one of my least favorite episodes.

It's not poorly written, it's a Joss episode and you can see him foreshadowing other things for the season and the series here and there.

But I really freakin' hate watching Buffy be so cruel to everyone, so mean.

It did give us the great "Bitca?" line though.

And also the epic scene where Cordelia steps up to tell Buffy she is being an idiot.

But, yeah, I think when people ask me which episodes I dislike, this might be one of them because I don't enjoy watching it, I'm just uncomfortable the entire time, especially during the dance scene.

It is a tough episode, but I do think it was important to show that Buffy isn't perfect and that she's not impervious to trauma. Still, not easy to watch and I can understand your feelings.

Oh man, that episode. The dance is horrible--and part of the reason it's so horrible is that it is so well done. And then you can't forget it happened because it's in ALL the credits scenes after that!

Anything that hints at Buffy/Xander makes me want to hurl. I am forever glad Joss refused to hook them up.

Yeah, it's not the most fun episode to watch. It isn't necessarily bad but it's not necessarily enjoyable either.

It is a tough episode to watch but I understand why Buffy acts the way she does in this episode. I guess that's why it's not even close to my worse episode. For me "Dead Man's Party" is by far worse, only because I hate how everyone treats Buffy in this one.

I remember that episode making me uncomfortable when I watched it, but I got why she did the thing. I think my least favorite episodes were in season 3 when she ran away and did the Anne thing for a bit.

Yes, it was a bit unpleasant. The only thing I really like is Xander's last lines about grinding our enemies bones to powder.

I have not watched that episode in a long time but it was never a favorite of mine for the same reasons that you gave. It is worth it for the "Bitca?" line though! Hehe.
