that book meme, 15!
Jun. 22nd, 2016 11:51 pm15. Post a shelfie
I figured this should probably get it's own post. Though as I take photos, I realize how I don't really own that many books anymore and also I don't really use my bookshelves for books LOL. they are mostly about displays of books, toys, movies etc.. Also, most of my childhood books are still at my parents (don't tell Tim, he is already horrified by the boxes I bring back any time we visit my folks LOL, so many Star Wars toys to bring home with me when he is not looking...)
Anyway, see for yourself - if you dare! The photos are clickable and will take you over to flickr if you want to zoom in and be really nosy. :) I don't mind, I did the same to you!
WHEDONSHRINE SHELF

All things Whedon. The only Whedon books I collect are the academic studies and the comics that Joss had a hand in writing (though one of my Star Wars friends gave me all of his Buffy comics from the 90s so I have a HUGE collection, but most are packed away because I don't have enough space to display them)
MUPPET SHELF

I love and adore Jim Henson and his Muppets. Most of the books here are library rescues, either removed from the collection because of damage or snagged from the donations pile. I love them all.
STAR WARS SHELF

One of many Star Wars displays around the house, this one has a few books, some library rescues, some gifts and a couple from my childhood.
MOVIE SHELF

Mostly for DVDs, but there are a few themed shelves that also include books. I've never even read Lord of the Rings but someone donated the faux red leather bound copy with "jewels" in the binding and I had to have it! And some of my making-of books next to their films. (this reminds me, I need to get my Jurassic Park book from my parents....)
GUEST ROOM BOOK SHELF - WITH ACTUAL BOOKS!

Not sure why but most of the "real" books are in the guest room. This shelf is a mix of my books and Tim's books. There's a Douglas Adams shelf, Shakespeare shelf, and comic book shelf that are mostly mine, with Tim's fantasy books mixed in.
Random Fandom Shelf

Last one! I love that our downstairs windows have these ledges, can you tell? The other side of this ledge is more of Tim's giant fantasy novels, but this side is mine! Just a weird mix of to-read books snagged from donations, random academic books that tie into fandoms and books that I wanted in my collection so I could make other people read them.
Hope you all enjoyed my little shelfie tour. :)
