Should I watch the new trailer? I am already very interested in this movie since seeing the sizzle reel from SDCC and I'm getting to the "spoiler free" point that I hit with Force Awakens. I really enjoyed seeing that and not knowing anything. I watched the main trailer for that move though...

Thoughts? How spoilery is it?

Not very? I mean, there are action shots, and promises to take down the Empire from various characters, and comments about how they're probably doomed. I didn't glean all that much from the trailer, honestly, and if you've seen the original trilogy, you know the basic back story, which was not developed much in the trailer. About all you get is more glimpses of the actors in the movie.

But that might just be me.

As far as how spoiler-y it is...mm. I mean, it doesn't really reveal much that wasn't already shown in the teaser trailer that was released a long while ago (I posted it in my LJ when it was released), if you saw that.

The thing is, the movie takes place literally JUST before A New Hope, I guess, so while it's going to show us new events that we haven't seen before...people aren't necessarily wrong about the fact that we're already spoiled by default because of knowing what happens in A New Hope.

I don't know. I'm having a hard time deciding how spoiler-y I think it is. I don't think it's THAT spoiler-y, but I don't want to tell you that, have you watch it and then be disappointed because you've been spoiled too much, lol.

Edit: skip all that. I agree with what enigmaticblues said, basically.

I'm planning on doing the same thing I did for Force Awakens...which was not watching the trailers at all! Some gifs people ended up posting before I saw it were a little spoiler...but I stuck with that decision, and I'm gonna do it again :)

WATCH IT WATCH IT WATCH!! It is not spoilery!! There's really no more information about the plot than there was in the teaser. I don't even think it's much longer. Just GO WATCH IT it's awesome.

I wouldn't really say it was spoilery, I mean it's pretty much stuff that's known. Just know that with that time like of course comes certain things. You should check it out.

I didn't think it was very spoilery. It reveals basically nothing about the plot, other than that there's a group of people trying to fight the Empire, which you kind of know already. Nothing about anything specific.

If you want to stay spoiler free don't watch it... Even if it doesn't give you any more info of what we already know you'll still see a lot of battle scenes you don't want to watch on a trailer, you want to be completely surprised when you're at the movies :)

Not spoilery. It is mostly an expansion of scenes fun the teaser trailer. A few more action shots and a bit more time spent with characters.

Tbh, the new trailer actually dampened my excitement. :( I was STOKED after the first trailer, but this new one just didn't do it for me at ALL.
