Assassin's Creed movie trailer

I can't tell if this is going to be epic or just an epic mess. The games are fascinating but most of the fun comes from running around and doing missions. I like that they are not doing a direct game to movie adaptation, this is a new character, a new time period, a new assassin.

I just want it to be fun. I know it won't be a five star movie, it's based on a video game, but gimme a solid 3 and let me eat popcorn.

(and for extra fun, watch the video that pops up after of the INSANE STUNT MAN who did an actual "leap of faith" drop for the movie...so crazy and everyone is just going to assume it was all CGI.)

Hm...now that I have finished Rise of the Tomb Raider maybe I should pick up Assassin's Creed Unity again. Need to finish that main story, I think I was pretty far in (I'm just really bad at being stealthy...)

Oh man I can't wait for this movie! I love playing Assassin's Creed, it's one of the few game that I'll still play on a console. I haven't played it in a while though. But it looks good, hopefully it does well. If anything, I can see it beating Warcraft as the biggest game to movie.

Warcraft is going to be hard to beat, it's hard to find a movie that EVERYONE in China enjoys LOL >.<

I'm curious to see how/if they handle the templar/assassin relationship because there were definitely some hot button issues in there that you can kind of get away with poking at in games, but not sure how a mainstream movie will handle it.

But if anything, Fassbender is pretty.

Here's hoping the plot is coherent to non-gamers. It is always a hard transition but I'm hoping that they created a solid story that can stand on its own.

The is a visually-satiating movie, but I hope it also delivers on the story department (especially for us who haven't played the game but are intrigued by the film D: unless we're not part of the target audience...)

YES Story is KING! I'm very picky and I don't care how pretty a movie is, if the story doesn't make any sense, than it is a failure. I can't stand when people say "well if you read the book/played the game/read the comic, then you'd understand..." because the movie needs to stand on its own. **crosses fingers**

I've technically only finished Assassin's Creed II LOL. I played a lot of 'Unity' but never finished it and I watched Tim play so much of 'Black Flag' I might as well have played it? I hope the movie has some of the intrigue of the games and isn't just all action. (though part of me wants Fassbender to "glitch" at some point and get stuck on a fence post because I hate when that happens in the game!)

As someone who never played the game, my reaction to the trailer is the same as I have towards the game: The graphics look nice, but I have no real interest in [playing/watching] it. By the end of it, I was more interested in it, but I think you're right -- it will, at very best, be a popcorn movie.

But man, that stunt was scary! That stuntman is insane. :D

That stunt guy is out of his mind but I gotta respect him. I mean, he wants to do his job right, he could have easily said no and made it all CGI. He's definitely crazy, but still....respect.

Yes and let's hope they aren't banking on a franchise and end on a cliffhanger. I want a coherent story that fits in the 2 hour movie and I can leave satisfied.

OMG, this looks so, so good!! I love how they created this world. I remember the ORIGINAL Assassin's Creed and love how they expanded the idea (and I loved how you switched back and forth between two times). This is epic! And it looks like they're going to stick with the premise of the recent games. Which...only makes me happier!

I'm really curious about how they are going to make the "modern day" side work in the story. In the last few games, you were working with the resistance but this appears to have Fassbender captured by Abstergo...hm...yeah, I just hope it is all coherent enough and not just sexy/pretty. :)

I've never played Assassin's Creed (I actually got one on a Steam sale, but I couldn't get it to play correctly on my computer), but I'm glad to see the costumes look just as badass in the film as they do in the games! XD Also thanks for recommending the trust fall stunt video, I love stuff about stunts and that was crazy. Imagine jumping from that height! :O I never could.

The visuals look stunning, so hopefully they don't completely drop the ball on the story. I'm okay with them doing a completely new character, but it still needs to feel like it fits within the universe already established with the games.
