I've seen everyone post the Kate McKinnon singing bit and Chappelle's monologue, but I hadn't seen this one.

TOO REAL! It's funny and depressing at the same time.

"funny and depressing at the same time."
That describes so much stuff I've seen in the last week.

I loved this sketch, too, particularly how it skewers the arguments that this election was all about class.

YES! I think it is a very human thing for us to have ONE reason to point at something going wrong (oh it's the carbs! Oh it's the sugar!) but it is always a sum of parts and we just never learn to manage all the things. And then we are surprised when we have a heart attack because we ate all the items labeled "diet" not realizing the key ingredient that made them "light" destroyed the rest of your body.

That metaphor got out of control, but you get what I'm saying!

(Also I am REALLY USPET we don't get to see Mark Ruffalo naked! You really let me down America!)

Y'know, Chris Rock did a stand-up show in 2004 that's been going around my head lately, particularly this bit: https://youtu.be/poqoClsEhR4

It is a bizarre and unpleasant time to be an American right now.

Thanks for sharing this. I think many, if not most of us, myself included, in some way or another have been out of touch with what another part of America is struggling with. Maybe this will have some good outcomes, if it gets us all talking and listening for a change.

And ha, I had forgotten about Mark Ruffalo :-/ Now he should do it to cheer us all up!

Saw that. It was very eerily realistic to what was going on at a forum I was at that night. I was definitely one of the ones in deep denial and trying to rationalize everything.

That was awesome...thanks for that, honey! But yeah...depressing. I was hoping for progress FORWARD, but it looks like they're right. What we thought we were...we aren't.

I laughed and then cried. Spot on though. It's almost like a sad movie that you've seen before... there's a moment of "maybe the results will change" but nope.

Really well done SNL though, that was pretty much my emotional cycle.
