So the "Trump Administration" just changed the ACA law, allowing businesses to decide whether the women they employee should have birth control, citing religious beliefs.

My brain is ready to explode, I'm just so...what the hell is this? Why should someone's boss get to dictate if they have access to certain kinds of healthcare?

Of course, if our country had a REAL healthcare system in place, this wouldn't be an issue, but because we are linked to jobs to get healthcare, this bullshit comes up.

If YOU don't believe in birth control, then that is YOUR choice, not your bosses, not your husband, THE WOMAN'S CHOICE.

If you decided to run a business, that was your choice. Guess what? You KNEW going in that you would have to provide health care for your employees because YOU STARTED A BUSINESS! So deal with it. You not only have to provide women with birth control if they want it, but you gotta make and decorate a goddamn cake for the gay couple.

If you don't want to do that, then don't be the boss. Go work in the trenches.

If only the GOP had such "moral" issues with, gee, I dunno, the NRA and other people that sell guns to anyone and everyone.

I need some sheetcake to scream into.

I also worry about all the other underhanded $$ shit they're doing while the public is all focused on this INSANE return to the dark ages, golfing, threats of war, etc.

What kills me about this is that it's actually more expensive for employers and insurers not to cover birth control. Nearly half of all pregnancies in the States are unplanned, and cost folks billions of dollars per year. Plus, why should it be anybody's business why someone is using birth control?! I've been on it since I was 18, except for a brief period while we were trying to conceive. I HAVE to be on it for medical reasons. It's a medication like any other, and it should be covered.

So true. And yes, single payer would eliminate so many problems. It's debatable how much money it would save overall but issues like this would not be a factor.
