I'm hosting an Escape Room program for teens next week and it is a Totally 80s Time Travel Adventure themed event. I've been raiding my closet and parents basement to find 80s things to add a bit of flavor to the program. This is my crowning achievement:

Yes, this was my first computer, an Apple IIe. It was kind of a big deal at the time, though as a kid it was just a computer in our house and since it was always there I just assumed this was a fixture in everyone's house (I didn't really understand that we were a bunch of nerds until later on in life).
I took it into work yesterday but forgot to bring any disks with me and it is obviously pretty damn worthless without a disk because this was before a harddrive that you could save anything to. I didn't forget today though!

I can't believe the damn thing worked! It took everything in my power not to sit down and try to play all the games I played when I was a kiddo. I am very tempted to boot it up with Hitchhiker's Guide in there and see if anyone can figure out that classic text adventure story where you struggle for the first few minutes and then die because you don't realize you have to turn on the light switch!
Mario was just a bunch of boxy pixels! Check out my mad skills:
I did have to Google to find out the controls, apparently back in the day A and Z were up and down for games, even though the up and down arrow keys were RIGHT THERE! Maybe that is why Mac never caught on as a gaming system?
