State of Emergencies

It has been raining here for two days straight. We went from disgusting, HOT weather, with the a/c running to keep it cool, to opening the windows over the weekend and having it drop down to 73 in the house.
I wouldn't mind but day 3 of this darkness really starts to wear me down. I think I am part Kryptonian and draw power from the Sun. I just have no energy or motivation when the weather is like this. I pretty much just played Witcher 3 all weekend, when I wasn't sleeping because I didn't know what time it was because NO SUN so I just kept rolling back over in bed.
Hurricane Florence is heading our way, Maryland is right at the tip of the path and I swear every time I check it inches up a little more. I needed to go grocery shopping today anyway so I went in and got the usual - eggs, milk, bread, Pumpkin Spice Cheerios - you know, what you need to survive in a storm.
My biggest concern is the library. We've already sprung 3 leaks just today and it is supposed to be raining off and all week! EEK! Best part is two of the leaks are in the meeting room where we do all our programs so things could get crazier if we get more leaks and need to move out of that room into the public space.
Oh, also on the crazy side, on my way to the grocery store I drove past a Kohl's and there were FOUR HUGE VULTURES sitting on top of the building. I saw the manager or some in-charge type standing outside staring up at them but, yeah what can you do? Talk about a sense foreboding!
To those of you that live further south on the east coast - STAY SAFE! Sounds like it is going to be a rough week, even if Florence doesn't make landfall.
