summer shows get different ratings scales

BUT ANYWAY!

While I LOVED the first season, I wasn't actually thrilled with the second and third season of Veronica Mars. The second season has too much "retconning" of what "really" happened in season 1 and Season 3 was better but just didn't have the same level of intrigue.

I funded the Kickstarter for the movie but only watched it once when I hosted a release party at my house. I can't remember much about it, so maybe I should watch it again.

One of my main problems is that I never shipped Veronica/Logan so I was perturbed that show creator Rob Thomas was all about them as a couple.

Yet, I'm oddly excited about the new season on Hulu.

Maybe it is just because I adore Kristen Bell and I'm happy to see her on my TV AGAIN. I always liked Veronica as a character, and the whole cast was always wonderful so I'm really hoping they capture that season 1 magic again with a mystery that has plenty of twists and turn but also some good character moments.

So, yeah, I'm totally going to watch Season 4 on Hulu in July because even the bad episodes of Veronica Mars were so damn watchable.

S2 was not as good but I was ok with it. It was S3 that I found really disappointing. The LoVe ship wasn't a central reason for my watching it but I did think they had great chemistry. I definitely preferred them to Veronica and Duncan who I thought had no chemistry at all. Rob Thomas seems to prefer bland male love interests -- he did it again on iZombie.

The movie was not great. It was a big fan service project that didn't capture almost anything about the original series, even though we got to see virtually all the major characters the show had had.

As a result, I'm not really following news on the new show but I'll probably try it out. A friend of mine also really liked the show and is looking forward to seeing what they do with it.

maybe that is why I have no memory of the movie at all LOL. I did notice that the love interest for Liv also got the same treatment...but at least I kinda like Major. He grew on me as the seasons passed and he became more than just The Ex.

I watched all of Veronica Mars exactly once. I do remember liking the second and third seasons less. There were retcons and they didn't have the same magic.
