Boo-ya, what a crazy couple of days! Everything went smoothly on Thursday. I don't want to post anything spoilery about "Serenity" but I will tell you it was fantastic. [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy about summed it up when we were chatting afterward. He said to me:

"That movie was weird. I mean, it was character and plot driven!"

It was classic Joss all the way, the message behind the film was to believe. Whatever you believe in, just BELIEVE in it, it will give you strength. So it was a big, giant thank you to the fans. It felt good to be a part of that. And to top it off, Morena "Inara" Baccara was there! I was so shocked, I figured since we were on the east coast, there would be no star appearances. But there she was. I got all teary eyed because it's one thing to say thank you in a video clip, but something else to have one of the stars actually show up. She even stayed behind afterwards and signed autographs and posed for pictures (sadly, all I had was my crappy camera phone, AD took a picture of me but I have no way of getting it off my phone).

So mark your calendars - Sept 30th. You WILL see this movie.

Then yesterday I got up early and went down to Annapolis and saw my boys play for WRNR. Alex called me while I was at work on Thursday and told me they were coming into the station and said since I was the one who told him to listen to Stephen Kellogg, I should be there. It was cool. Stephen, Kit, Brian, and Mike did 3 warm up tunes, 2 of which were new songs. Then we had crab cake sandwiches. Skylor was there, as it was his last day of preschool and Alex just walked down and got him. So Sky sat with me and we watched them play songs for the DJs. It went really well, Alex was definately happy. I'm so excited for them! if you want to hear their stuff, IM me and I'd be happy to send some your way. They are folk/rock singer/songwriter style. Acoustic guitars, harmonies, catchy melodies...that sorta thing.

Then I got home afterwards and AD wanted to go see RotS. How could I say no?? So we went back down to Annapolis and caught the 7pm showing on the digital screen. Unfortunatley I set next to a mentally challenged kid (I'm not joking, he really was) so that was annoying. But you really couldn't yell at him for talking, it wasn't like he was just stupid, he had issues. I zoned him out eventually, though he was driving me nuts because every time he saw a Wookiee he said "IS THAT CHEWBACCA!??" really loud.

Now I'm at the library. I'm really tired. I didn't get up until 9 and I had to be here by 10. I totally flaked on the whole food thing, so I'm going to take 30 minutes off my schedule and run out and get food from somewhere. Probably dairy queen, they are pretty close. Because I'm hungry...and I NEED caffiene. so bad. Mathew is working today, hopefully our breaks will be at the same time because he cracks me up and I love chatting with him. He needs a blog. I'm *this* close to getting one of the other librarians to start a blog, I told her to get LJ because I'd be her friend. haha.

oh, and just to show you how not busy it is today, I did this meme:

Current fandoms: Star Wars, Jossverse, Lord of the Rings, Douglas Adams, Lost, Harry Potter, House, Beatles...

My first fandom ever: Star Wars! My mom tells me I used to go into the backyard and re-enact Star Wars and Wizard of Oz. There's a picture of my pulling Leia disguised as Boussh outta my xmas stocking. And one of my earliest memories is of my watching RotJ and dragging my toys out to play along...good times.

My most recent fandoms: Lost & House - duh, they are new shows!

5 Fandoms that mean alot to me: Star Wars - my first. And my always.
Buffy - Joss showed me what quality television was, and made me feel like a part of something. Plus Buffy has helped me meet so many people and form friendships that never would have happened otherwise
Lord of the Rings - restored my faith in quality films
Beatles - pulled me out of my music rut and got me into a lot of other music too
Douglas Adams - showed me that there was more than just books-turned-into-movies to read.
