do not mock the hot seat

oh man, I worked 5-9 at West County last night. They told me it had been busy, but I scoffed. Then, just because I could, I sat in the proverbial "hot seat", the chair at the end of the desk that patrons usually make a b-line for once they come upstairs. MAN I was busy. In fact, the other librarians said it was slow, but really, it was because they all came to me first! haha. I respect the hot seat now. I shall never mock it again. In fact, when I go in today, I'm am SO sitting on the other side of the desk. If I can. (1-9 tonight)

The star wars book earned points for me last night as I felt it was inferring that Anakin is not actually this "chosen one" of prophecy. I still think it refers to Luke and that while Anakin is an important player, he's not the one who's going to Shan-Shu bring order to the galaxy.

ANTWERP!

Another stash of goodies came in for me today at work (and another one went to the branch that I was SUPPOSED to worked at tomorrow but ah well). I checked out "The Art of Spirited Away" (mostly to look for things to scan for graphics) and "Lathe of Heaven" on DVD (the good one with Bruce Davison as George Orr). And according to my record, I have "Robin Hood: Prince of Theives" soundtrack downstairs, which I need to go get before 9pm.

So, I need to decide what I want for my birthday dinner and what kind of cake I want. I'm leaning towards ice cream cake right now, though I'm not sure what flavor of ice cream or cake. Maybe cookies & cream ice cream and chocolate cake? Would that be weird? Then what kind of frosting? Or maybe it should be chocolate chip ice cream? (last year I had chocolate chip cookie dough w/ vanilla cake, i think)

As far as dinner goes, I was thinking I'd go for a nice juicy steak and a baked potato with the works...but another part of me wants sushi, because sushi is yummy yummy in my tummy. *sigh* just not sure. It's hard to decide when you're hungry. Other thing is, if we get sushi, probably means we'll have to go out to eat, and I'm not sure if I want to do that. Of course, we could order take-out sushi...but from which place!!! Tokyo Sushi is my favorite so far, but it's not the closest. Hm.

I have not heard from my parents about whether they want me to come over or not. They can't have forgotten about my birthday! Or was my phone my birthday present? I don't know.
