orangerful: (incredibles phew // orangerful)
I'm at the library today, 9-5. So far, it's been pretty quiet, except for one phone call that caused confusion as the patron said they had a card with stuff on hold and we couldn't find that card in the system. We pulled the items though.

Yesterday was [livejournal.com profile] zauber_vz's birthday. My parents took us all over to Sakura, a hibachi/sushi place about 10 minutes from our apartment. I think we had the best hibachi chef I've ever seen. He was just like in the movies, tossing stuff up in the air, over his head, at our faces. I caught a shrimp in my mouth! (well, almost, my hand grabbed it as it missed my mouth and shoved it in real fast). We've been to a couple other hibachi places and the chefs were never that animated. [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy, [livejournal.com profile] zauber_vz and I all had sushi.

After that, we went back to our apartment for cake and ice cream. But first, I played a little bit of God of War, as my dad wanted to see what it looked like on the big screen TV. The thing that I noticed (don't know if anyone else did) is that on the big screen, you can really see when the PS2 refreshes the image. It's sorta weird. Otherwise it was really cool. Then we had ice cream cake (2 birds, one stone) which was really yummy. [livejournal.com profile] zauber_vz opened his presents. He got the Star Wars lightsaber game, which he played a bit of. Like DDR, you should buy this just so you can make your friends do it and look funny. It seemed like fun though. I want to play it now. We got him a halo t-shirt from Hot Topic, a Darth Vader notebook and pencil set, some sour patch kids candy, and Resident Evil 1 for gamecube. Good times all around.

Today, my plan is to work until 5, then dash over the the Arundel Mills Circuit City to see if they have the Star Wars Lego video game so I can trade in my broken one. Then if I have any energy, I need to run over to the comic shop and get Serenity #2! It comes out today and I'm not missing this issue!! Plus, I want to keep bugging them to order the re-issue of vol 1.

I made some pretty icons this week, if I do say so myself. Even got second place at [livejournal.com profile] padme_stillness! If it stays slow on the desk, I'll post them. If not, you can just go browse my site, as I updated it last night. :-)

It's pretty slow at work right now, so I'm going to try and post some of my most recent creations (sure fire way to make it get busy out here).

star wars, HP, and jossverse, oh my! )

Yes, you too can peer pressure your friends into getting a livejournal! It's simple! Just e-mail, and repeat.

Actually, I think [livejournal.com profile] persephones_rev is right, I do have the Force! I just did one quick Jedi mind trick, and now my buddy Alan has a livejournal! [livejournal.com profile] simontrueheart. I can already tell that reading his blog will get me in trouble on the desk. I'll be stifling the giggles. Ah yes, good times.

I just heard it through the grapevine that they *might* be hiring more library associates in Sept/Oct!!! I hope I can get in on that! I also hope that the openings are not at Brooklyn Park. *crosses fingers that they are at Western Area branches* Ooooh, wouldn't it suck if it was at Maryland City? Then I'd have to make [livejournal.com profile] zaubervz quit his job! That would be so mean! (they have this silly rule that relatives can't work in the same branch).

So, I bought myself a darth vader notebook while I was at Target yesterday. I am such a nerd. I love school supplies. I wish I was still in school just so I could have an excuse to buy a new pack of pens. But anyway, I'm trying to decide what I should write in my Darth Vader notebook. I feel as though it should be star wars themed. Perhaps a listing of all my collectibles? Maybe a record of how I aquired each of them? No clue. Give me ideas here people!

[livejournal.com profile] jimithingy finally got his computer fixed...and his monitor died. Well, not all of it. Just the color red. So everything on his screen is green now. Not fair. I'm going to try and spin by my 'rents house tomorrow to see if they have any old ones stashed away somewhere.

Also on the agenda for tomorrow - Serenity #2!! I'm going to hit up the comic shop before work.
