no power in the 'verse can stop me

Just ordered the Serenity novelization and Visual companion that came out today. The total was under $25, so I also bought myself a Foxtrot book, since those always make me giggle. Figured Serenity merch is so few and far between, better scoop it up while I can!

my two crazy!early days this week are done now. Tomorrow I babysit starting at 10:30am until whenever. I'm actually a bit excited since I haven't seen Sky or Snow in about a month, what with vacations and all. Sky's first day of Kindergarden is Thursday, so it will be interesting to see if he's excited or what. I meant to run over to Target and get him Darth Vader pencils but I completely forgot. Maybe I'll check for them over the weekend. I should be picking up a few CDs tomorrow too, so yay for free music!

crapload of books came in for me today at work - book 4 of Y: The Last Man along with some other random graphic novels. Plus a real BOOK! Yes, can you believe it, no pictures what so ever! Everything's Illuminated....yes, I did order it because of the Elijah Wood movie coming out...but still, it's a real book! I hope I can handle it.

I'm back on the Sims 2. Yeah, I know you'd though I quit it. So did I. But for some reason, I had a hankering to boss those little people around. So I shipped a bunch of the teens off to college and have been playing with them. Today I worked on getting one of the other teens grades up so she could go to college. Now she has more scholarships than any of my other Sims! I'm psyched, she might not have to live in the dorms! I'll probably send her off to the university tomorrow.

anyhoo, I think I'm gonna get to bed - this whole "waking up early" thing has really made me sleepy at night time! It's so weird!

I have to say, the Malcom "Mal" Reynolds scult isn't very impressive. Is that rouge?? Final Battle Mal looks better though, him I shall purchase. The really yellow shirted Jayne just looks confused. The other one looks better.

And I'm not sure I want a Reaver....they're just icky!

Okay, so I bought the books yesterday. Then the action figure pictures were e-mailed to me. Now, Universal just did a complete overhall of the official movie website, with lots of downloadable goodies (and more on the way) plus fun stuff to click on. (yes, I totally roxored the Browncoats quiz, missing only 1 questions...I can never remember dates). Oh, and get this - if you go to the dining room, you can download a cookbook. YES! A freakin' Firefly cookbook!! I'm so printing that out at work this weekend so I can make goodies for my firefly viewing party! Just so cool.

jimithingy's copy of World of Warcraft came today. I'm already tempted. I haven't actually played yet, but AD said that once you get to level 40 you can summon a mount. I want a pony.

I need to take my car in for the emissions inspection. It's due by sept 7th. I was gonna go tomorrow, but I have to work 5-9 at crofton and I've decided to be lazy and sleep in. I will wake up SUPER early Friday morning and drive down there. Or, ya know, super early for a day off. hehe.

babysitting went well today, kiddos were happy to see me and my star wars toys. watched Skylor re-inact all the major scenes from RotS with my galactic heroes while the soundtrack was playing. He pretty much just loops Battle of Heroes and has my Ani and Obi figures go at it. We also went down to the pool for an hour, since it closes this weekend. Tossed them around a bit. Monica asked me to babysit Saturday night, since they wanted to get outta the house before Alex's surgery. I figured what the heck, with gas up to $3/gallon, I could use the extra cash. So Saturday will be insane, since I'm working 10-5 at WCO then running over there. But that leaves Sunday and Monday totally open, so yay.

I ordered tickets for Jump Little Children at the Funk Box next Wednesday! That should be fun! Haven't been to a random concert in awhile. jimithingy says I saw them open for Howie ages ago but didn't know it was them so I didn't care. Now I care! haha. They are definately one of my new favorite groups. I snagged a copy of Jason Mraz's new album today too, listened to a few tracks on the drive home. Good stuff. Not amazing, it's not grabbing me like the first CD, but good bouncy sunny day music.
