I just finished 'The Subtle Knife'

huge major spoilers! )

I have no come to the conclusion that the movies will probably suck. A lot. Golden Compass might be okay, but these other ones there is no way. Nope. Not gonna translate onto screen if it's being made by a big studio. I wish the BBC would just do a miniseries version, like they did with 'lion witch and wardrobe' all those years back. They wouldn't be so worried about the content.

Amber Spyglass - Disc 1 tomorrow morning! What a way to wake up!!!

Have you seen 'Rear Window'?  Then you already know a lot about this movie.  But that's okay, when it was released, everyone said that is was an "updated" version of the Hitchcock classic.  So, since they admitted that, it's more of an homage than a rip-off, right?

If you're in the mood for a thriller that is also fun, 'disturbia' will serve you well.  Shia LaBeouf is the lead in the movie and I think there are only a handful of scenes that he's not in.  He does a great job, though.  Usually I have a low tolerance for movies that have all teen casts, but this group did a good job.  A strong script and good acting from the entire cast really makes this very watchable.

I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars on Netflix - "I Really Liked It".  No over the top gore, just a solid, fast paced plot and good acting.  A great popcorn movie to watch with friends!
