orangerful: (mario oh yeah! // orangerful)
I thought it was out on Tuesday but it came out TODAY! AD and I went into Best Buy to look for the 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' soundtrack, and lo and behold, there were a TON of Mario Kart Wii boxes out!

OMG so fun. The tracks are all classic tracks from previous Mario Kart games - N64, Gamecube, GBA and DS! You can ride in a variety of cars or on motorcycles! I've tried to use the steering wheel, but I think I prefer the nunchuck style steering. I will experiment some more later.

And I have to tell [livejournal.com profile] jellibean this story:
While we are racing through the mall track, going through the parking lot where all the Miis are driving cars, I hear AD yell, "WTF was that a STORMTROOPER?" LOL! The Stormie Mii that you sent me was driving around the mall, running Yoshi off the road.

Anyhoo it is too fun. We're trying to connect our Wii to the Internet, since we never reconnected it when we moved to this apartment, but Mario Kart actually supports online play (FINALLY Nintendo!).

Okay, back to the fun. :)

It's funny because it is TRUE.

'Walk Hard' is a straight-forward parody is the tradition of 'Airplane' and the Naked Gun movies.  It's not meant to be anything more than a string of ridiculously silly moments, poking fun at the rock star bio-pic genre.  I didn't remember that it was a Judd Apatow film until the credits began to roll (though I should have known when I saw the penis; I remember that he said on Daily Show back when 'Superbad' came out, that his next goal was to get a penis in a shot).

I don't want to give away any of the gags, so much of what made it funny was the sheer randomness of it all.  Let's just say, if you're in the mood to just put your brain on cruise control and enjoy an hour and a half of giggles, this movie is for you.  If you've seen 'Walk the Line', 'Ray', ...et al., then you'll get extra giggles.  If you enjoy playing "Spot Judd Apatow's friends or people that really wanted to work with him" (Frankie Muniz?!?) you'll have a good time too.

I'd give it 3 outta 5 stars - Silly and fun; great with popcorn.

So, I figured I should post some coherent thoughts about Battlestar this week. We've only watched it the once so far, but here is what I remember so far as reactions:

spoilers of DOOM! Back the frak off )
So, yes, just initial reactions...2 days late but still initial. We'll probably rewatch later this week and I will find new things to discuss. Still enjoying Season 4.
