What a crazy weekend. Friday, I woke up and attempted to find my doctor. I had called the night before and it said the office would be open from 9-11am, so I woke up super early and drove down there (it's by my parents house, so about 25 minutes from here). I get there and the nurse tells me that none of the doctors are at that office on Fridays and if I really need to see a doctor, I have to drive down to the Cheverly office, another 15 minutes away. So back into my hot as **** car I go, ear throbbing with icky goo. Finally find the office and it's sketchy as hell, but I sit and I wait, and I realized there is yellow stuff coming out of my ear and I'm totally grossed out. Then the nurse calls me in (well, I finally hear the nurse calling me, apparently she had been looking for me for awhile). Doctor looks in my ear, says "ew, that doesn't look good" and prescribes me some antibiotics. So I drag myself back home to Target and drop off that prescription, (manage to find 2 Star Wars cups though!) and then I go home, it's 11:30, and I pass out for another hour.

After I wake up, I scarf down some food, take one of my antibiotic pills, and start to gather stuff up for our road trip up to Philly for the Stephen Kellogg & the Sixers concert. We get up there far earlier than we need to be, [livejournal.com profile] dancynanci is running late do to traffic, so it's just my hard of hearing self and AD hanging out. We eat some dinner and AD explains to me why he thinks the Wallflowers were a sucky band. Amanda and her gang show up juuuust in time, and they order food and then the show starts. The band only plays for a little over an hour, they have to finish, sign merch and get us out of there in time for the 10pm people to come in and find their seats. So I say hello to all of the boys, ask Jess about the limited edition EP and if they are going to re-press it at a later date. She responds by handing me a free copy and saying that "For Sam, it's free" which makes me feel all special. So I leave happy and we head towards AD's parents house, about an hour earlier than we originally expected.

AD calls to give his folks a heads up and we find out that they already have company. Chris and Rhonda, a couple from Arizona that Doc knows from work are chillin there this weekend. We arrive and it's a party. Music is blaring, drinks are being made, food is being served. We stay up late, eat too much and have fun in the chaos. I ingest more drugs and pass out and sleep all night. The next day, Mrs Smith has a crab feast planned out for AD (since I don't like crab, this is his chance to have some). And when I say feast, I mean feast. A ton of crabs for the 5 of them, plus a huge bowl of mussels, some clams casino, corn on the cob, sushi, miso soup, and edamame. Plus Italian Ice for dessert. Oh man, I was so full. We stuffed our faces, then piled into the car to head home.

Today, I woke up around 11:30 and got myself ready for the DC metro area Star Wars Collector's Club meeting (DCSWCC). I called [livejournal.com profile] zaubervz and [livejournal.com profile] verdatum to make sure they were ready to go, picked them up and headed to the library. I picked up some cool goodies - my wal-mart eary bird kit, crispy Anakin, blue senate guard, AT-TE trooper...[livejournal.com profile] zaubervz wanted an Animated Grievous and one of the people had a 3 pack with Grievous, Durge and Asajj inside, so I bought it for him so we could spilt the figures (I wanted Asajj). Also had a guy who was cleaning out his BtVS collection, who gave me about 10 back issues of the fan club magazine AND the ToyFare prophecy girl Buffy figure for $10 and one of my galactic hero sets (so $14.79). I also managed to get a few more trading cards for my RotS set. I'm only missing about 10 now.

Dropped off my bro and my mom had found some pictures of me with my star wars toys. For the DCSWCC Summer Social, we're supposed to submit pictures of us as kids with our toys and they are going to post them and one of the games at the social will be to identify each person! I ended up taking one of me in the bathtub with a strategically placed TaunTaun with Luke. When I scan it to send to the club, I'll post it here too haha.

And that was about it for my weekend, but really that was enough. The rest of Sunday I have spent goofing off with my toys and my boyfriend, eating KFC, and making icons. All around good weekend I must say.

Geez, woman! Your ear's condition sounds terrible! Be careful of that... B's eardrum actually ruptured from an infection from Swimmer's Ear. o.O (So did mine, but for an ear infection cause by something different.)

But that meal sounds like it was divine! :D

Early bird toys??? Gah! I missed out???

Hey, I've been meaning to ask you if you've watched the cartoon Tenn Titans... I just thought that you might enjoy it, though I can't exactly pinpoint why I think this. ;)

ugh, my ears are making me so mad. Now the right one is itching a little bit. I have this horrible worry that when he was "examining" my ears, he didn't switch instruments, and he just shoved the icky thing into my good ear and now it's infected. Grrrr. Maybe I'm just paranoid though. What is really annoying is that I've never had these problems before until last November...my warranty must have run out.

the meal was heavenly.

Yeah, the Early Bird kits were hard to find, they were a Wal-Mart exclusive and the Wal-Mart across the street from us didn't have them, so I had to ask someone to pick one up for me. Now I need to sit down and fill out the form so I can get the "free" toys. AD is laughing at me since I just paid $32 for an empty box.

I am familiar with 'Teen Titans' though I've never watched it. I know that they have star wars references in the show...beyond that I don't really know that much about it haha. Seems like it would be cute.

Awww... I'd buy you the extended warranty, if I could. *hugs*

So, was it like how they did it waaaay back in the day for the toys when ANH was originally released?

Yeah, the TT are pretty cool... they do oftentimes make references that I just know that the kiddies won't 'get'. It's generally designed for the pre-teens, so it deals with some elements that that age can grasp... I think the toon depicts the teens rather well. They get on each other nerves, they're discovering themselves, and form affections for other characters. And, they all have their flaws, well, except for Starfire... she's next to perfect in my little world. ;D I just thought I'd recommend them to you. :D

Yep, back when ANH was released, the response was beyond what the expected and they didnt' have time to mass produce toys before xmas. So instead, they sold the empty box so you could order the toys after xmas. And the new EB kits have the exact same graphics and such on the box. They are pretty cool. I'll probably take a picture of it when I make the "collectibles" page on my site.

Next time TT is on, I'll have to watch it!
