oh dear what can I do?
Aug. 17th, 2005 07:19 pmWe have teh evil bird outside our window. Around sunrise, this little bugger (or buggers, as the case may be) begins to chirp very loudly. Over and over and over and over...pretty much forever (he was still doing yesterday when
jimithingy got home from class around noon). We don't know what to do. I just cram my pillow into my ear and pass back out again. It seems to be a bit rougher for
jimithingy, but he's a lighter sleeper than me. We assume that it's baby birds, in their next, calling for momma to bring them food. It is irritating though because it really wakes you up, it's just the right pitch that it bring you out of your sleep. Plus, I was concentrating so hard on ignoring it this morning that I didn't hear my phone ringing.
Oh, and how much is gas where YOU live? This is getting regoddamndiculous. $2.61!!! I can't afford to drive to work but I can't afford to not go to work! I just don't understand. I even went out of the way yesterday to go to the gas station that's usually cheaper and they were three cents more! Oi!
We watched The Machinist last night. Christian Bale was very skinny in that movie. It was kinda hard to watch; he was just skin and bones. I'm not going to go into a long, involved review here. It was a good movie but I think it could have moved a bit faster. I also think that there have been alot of films in this style recently so it took away from the novelty of it. *shrugs* It will forever be refered to as the "omg Batman is so skinny in this" movie.
Now I gotta bump something up on Netflix. #1 is Shallow Grave with Ewan McGregor. But I also just sent back Curb Your Enthusiasm disc 2, so I need to pick one other film. Bill just gave me a pile of MST3K DVDs to watch too. But that's more for just me.
jimithingy isn't as big of a fan.
Oooooh break time!

Date: 2005-08-18 12:09 am (UTC)How many litres in a gallon? What's the Canada/US exchange rate? I'm not helping here.
But, for the record, $1.10 per litre is the most expensive gas has ever been here. Ever.
The cheapest I've seen it has been 35.9, and when I started delivering pizza in 1999, I tried to catch it at 45.9, because it would fluctuate up to 63.9 and back. 63.9 was really expensive.
I remember I once caught gas down low at 79.9, and had to reflect on how absurd that was.
And soon, when gas goes down to 99.9, I'll be glad of it. This is sick.
