It has been INSANE today. I was downstairs on the J desk all by myself from 1-4 and it was nutso. I hardly got thru two pages on my flist. I'm hiding upstairs now, hopefully this "quiet" I've heard about today will continue.

I asked [livejournal.com profile] blu_harvest if he had heard of the anime that had scarred me as a child. And he had. See, when I was like 6 or 7 I saw some anime movie on TV and it had a little unicorn and his friends were turned into little toys and is messed me up. I had a major nightmare that night and I pretty much refused to watch anime for many many years after that. Anime made me nauseous. So I tried to describe the show that I saw to [livejournal.com profile] blu_harvest in an attempt to confront my fear. And he knew exactly what it was and googled it for me. It still weirds me out, just seeing the image made my heart beat a little faster. Anyone else have odd childhood memories that haunt them to this day?

Okay, and I'm never not washing my hair again. The coloring people put the fear of god in me that if I washed my hair every day (like I normally do) that the color would come out. So today I did not shampoo my hair...and you know what? IT'S NASTY!!!! So, yeah, guess the color will be fading faster because I'm not dealing with this tomorrow. ew ew ew.

okay, gonna read the ol' flist now...

It's strange what can scare little kids. I was absulutely deathly afraid of this hulk doll my parents freind gave. God! That thing scared the crap out of me! It had to be in the closet covered with coats before I would stop screaming. The thing is Sam, you have to face your fear. After years of being afraid of hulk dolls I did the sensible thing...and had myself irradiated with Gamma rays! So the only sensible solution is for you to turn into a unicorn and start turning people into toys. Really, you'll feel better.

But seriously, if you ever watch it I think the first movie is better.

Anonymous my hind! The above is me. I don't what happened. I was thinking though and if you still remember it form when you were six it might just be one of those things and you shouldn't try to see more of it. ( Although it's pretty good actually.) But you ever have that in reverse? where you remember something being really cool and the you see it as an adult and it's just kind of okay? I hate when that happens.

oh hellz no, I ain't watching that. Probably just freak me out again!

I'm constantly re-watching movies from my childhood and being a bit let down. Though most of them I still enjoy, like Willow or the Ewok Adventures. The only one that made me really bitter was 'Legend'. I thought that movie was soo cool when I was little, what with real live unicorns and Tim Curry as the DEVIL! But the movie itself is utter shite. So bad.

every saturday morning. Though I didn't much care for "Slimer". I mean, he was just such a blatant marketing ploy, even as a child I felt ripped off.

and didn't venkmen sound like Garfield?

Slimer was the Scrappy Doo of ghostbsuters.

Didn't casy kasem do Shaggy's voice?

I'm not sure if it's true or not, but I swear that Venkmen and Garfield sounded alike. Maybe that was just the "in" voice at the time.

I'll agree with that National Lampoons comment...and raise you the Naked Gun movies. Airplane still stands the test of time for me though.

yes, that was a twilight zone episode (as I know for I watch the marathon on sci-fi channel every halloween).

and, as always, I'm reminded of a buffy quote --

while watching a student practicing for the talent show with his puppet:

Buffy: Ewww, dummy!

Willow: I think dummies are cute. You don't?

Buffy: Uuuhhh. They give me the wiggins. Ever since I was little.

Willow: What happened?

Buffy: I saw a dummy. It gave me the wig-- There really wasn't a story
there.
