time to amuse me people!

Okay, I'm really bored and the library has been really slow today...and I still have 5 hours to go. I need some entertainment here people.

Give me anything. A funny childhood memory about that time you thought "frisk" was a dirty word. That time you accidentally told your parents the truth about something you were hiding when they infact just wanted to know if you had brushed your teeth. How cool am I? How does one define "cool"? ("she's hot, she's cool, she's all temperature buffy")

Maybe something about pirates and ninjas and the war that has raged since the dawn of time.

Weapons to be determined later: Caveman vs. Astronaut; who would win? Explain.

Also - I finally posted to novel_graphics. I just did it here at the desk, so it's short, sweet, to the point and only had the basic spell check used on it. But I think I like the format. I'm sorta using the ESRB rating system that they use for video games. I think it works. Friend it to amuse me. I promise to keep the long winded portion under lj cuts.

Good point about the pirates...though Ninjas are about the stealth more than the pirates, pirates are more about the grog and loot and they don't care how much noise they make to get it.

On my last Italian Quiz, there was an exercise where you had to make up the 2nd half of a sentence. The first part would say, "She doesn't like to lift weights;" and you would finish it by saying "she prefers to do aerobics." Or something like that.

Well, I got mine back and I missed a question. I hadn't been paying attention to what the sentence was actually saying--I assumed that it was like all the other ones. So my sentence said:

"Non prendo l'aero; preferisco ballare." Translation: "I don't take airplanes; I prefer to dance." As soon as I figured out what it said and really thought about what it meant, I started to giggle, and continued to giggle everytime I looked at it. I felt so bad because people would ask questions and I would randomly start to laugh, and so it probably seemed like I was laughing at them... ah well. :)

hahaha, aw, your prof had to be giggling while grading that. I mean, how could they not?

They probably didn't think I was nuts because I'm pretty sure I make irritated faces when people ask stupid questions. I really try not to, but after the 5th person takes 5 minutes to conjugate a verb simply because they didn't do their HW it's almost unbearable. They probably thought I had just given up on holding it in and had started laughing at them..

Haha I remember those awkward grade school days where everything was a double entendre--I still have moments like that all the time. I blame all-girls Catholic high schooling...

hehe, yeah, that's sorta what happened to my brother - we were playing Cranium and it was a drawing challenge and the word he got was "frisk", which he assumed was sort of dirty, since every cartoon he'd ever seen (like bugs bunny and such) always had little ladies giggling when it happened...so he just assumed it was naughty. He drew a picture of a hand grabbing what seemed to be a bottom. I just remember that we could not guess what he was trying to draw!

i still harass him about that. It's just so classic.

hehe, I just watched 'Hole in the World' (with commentary cuz thats the only way to see it without crying) and I had forgotten about that part. Apparently it was an onset in joke, as one of the writers just came into the room one day, wrote that on the board, and walked out...needless to say, no actual writing was done that day as they just argued the whole time hahahha.
