2005 mix track list
Dec. 30th, 2005 01:37 pmOkay, I know that
sideflip1 and
spitefairy didn't recieve their CDs in one piece, and I'll be sending out new ones for you guys next week. Did anyone else who wanted a 2005 mix not get one? I'm hoping they have all arrived by now. If not, let me know. (
dstntp1lgr1m, you'll get yours at the party tomorrow, I promise).
Anyhoo, I usually don't like to post the track list until I know everyone has had a listen...so just promise me you won't read this until you've gone thru the disc at least once non-stop. mmmk? Because you know how it is, you see a certain artists name you might skip that track or skip straight to it. But I really worked on the order here people! hehe. I want you to appreciate the flow of the CD first...then you can skip around. ;)
Okay, the tracklist:
1. Start the Day Early - Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers (from their self-titled release)
2. Goodnight and Go - Imogean Heap (from 'Speak for Yourself')
3. (Don't Fear) the Reaper - Caesars (from 'Everything Ends : songs from the HBO series 'Six Feet Under')
4. Extraordinary Machine - Fiona Apple (from 'Extraordinary Machine')
5. Geek in the Pink - Jason Mraz (from 'Mr A-Z')
6. Amazing Life - Jem (from 'Everything Ends')
7. Louisiana Bayou - Dave Matthews Band (from 'Stand Up')
8. First to Feel Like This - Jump, Little Children (from the EP 'Glow and the Light')
9. We Used to be Friends - Dandy Warhols (from the Veronica Mars soundtrack)
10. Angel : Main Theme (Sanctuary Mix) - Darling Violetta (from 'Live Fast Die Never : Angel Soundtrack')
11. L.A. Song - Christian Kane (from 'Angel Soundtrack')
12. Firefly Main Theme (from 'Firefly Original Sountrack')
13. Battle of Heroes - John Williams & London Symphony Orchestra (from 'Star Wars Revenge of the Sith OST')
14. She's Got Everything - Old 97's (from 'Sweethearts 2005')
15. I've Got You Under my Skin - Michael Buble (from 'It's Time')
16. Got My Own Thing - Liz Phair (from 'somebody's miracle')
17. Strawberry Blonde - Rockwell Church (from a live show we recorded in September...)
18. Daylight Robbery - Imogean Heap (from 'Speak for Yourself')
19. Seen It All Before - Amos Lee (from his self titled album)
20. Darkest Love - Jump, Little Children (from 'glow and the light' ep)
21. Breathe Me - Sia (from 'Everything Ends')
So as you can see, as far as my favorite albums of the year go - Everything Ends was a fantastic mix of music from all over the place (all tracks on this mix were exclusive to that CD) and the new Imogean Heap was fantastic! I also became obsessed with Jump Little Children this year, but sadly they have now stopped making new stuff, so I just snuck on some of the songs from their last EP which did have a 2005 date!
oh, and the Michael Buble is sort of an inside joke...so inside, in fact, that I'm the only one who gets it.
jimithingy's dad has his CD and plays it all the time, and it's good chill music...plus, there's a great Muppet show sketch with 'I've got you under my skin' where the monster has eaten another monster as in fact singing to him while he's in his belly...
so, now you know what you're hearing! :)

Date: 2005-12-31 12:24 am (UTC)And I LOVE "Geek in the Pink." Jason Mraz is such a nerd, I saw him once live and said, "He would be my friend." haha.

Date: 2006-01-02 11:27 pm (UTC)And Jason Mraz is a total geek. I wasn't in love with the new album like I was with his first, but it had a few songs I enjoyed. I just like his upbeat stuff, and this new one had too many slow songs. I met him when I worked at the radio station and he seemed like a total goofball type. I got my picture with him and everything. In fact, there's a postcard stuck on the wall next to me that has his autograph to me. :)

Date: 2005-12-31 02:26 am (UTC)Jim and I both agree that this is our favorite mix CD yet. We were wondering about a play list.. Didn't know that not including one was part of a diabolical plot on your part!
Thanks for the tunage!
