Microsoft has created their own "MySpace" cleverly called "MSN Spaces". I do not know why but I find this very very amusing. They all have that stream-lined windows look to them, which is already more appealing than the MySpace crude boxes. Then again, it is run by satan.

Livejournal is still bestest of all. But I think that it's not quite as easy to alter if you're not the least bit computer saavy or have your own home computer. Where as with MySpace, I feel like it takes less skill to alter your background etc...though it takes some skill to make it a teensy bit viewable.

What is with little girls and hot pink? Think outside the color box here people!

I HATE MySpace... I would say that 80% of the people on it are shady pervs. I hate Xanga too, but at least you don't get messages saying, "Hey, I'm going to be in town this weekend, wanna hook up??" *shudders* I also don't like people who embed music into their myspace and make it such that you cannot stop the music. There needs to be more style restrictions.. same with Xanga. Less is more, people. Having music AND flashing glitter signs AND a weird-ass cursor AND transparent backgrounds AND text that matches said transparent BG are not omgsupercool, they are just annoying. Especially the transparent BG. Wow.. sorry. I'm done now.

I do, however, love that you complain/talk about myspace so much that you have a tag for it. Very nice. :)

i also hate MySpace. very much. But its so HUGE right now, I want to keep up with it. Right now, from my desk at work, I can see teens huddled around the PCs, reading their comments and such. But, personally, I can't stand it. But it's really a glorified IM, where people can see if you're online and leave you messages. When I was a teenager, I didn't really have anything I could think of "blogging", even when I first got this LJ I mostly did quizzes, and that seems to be the realm that MySpace operates in - the land of quizzes, memes, and chain letters. I hate Xanga too, mostly because the people in their tend to have the fugliest blogs ever and seem to just sit around stealing icons (of course, the only time I ever go to a xanga site is when someone has alerted me to stolen icons)

But yes, I do complain about the thing alot. I'm almost afraid to click on the tag, because I'm sure the posts all say the exact same thing:

"I hate myspace - now be my friend!"

I view LJ and MS as two completely different landscapes that share some similarities.

My Space to me is like "club-oriented-email with pics everytime a friend writes to you"

LiveJournal.... is all about the content and the soul, and actually having talent enough to post something besides a chain letter that while invoke the sincere interest of others.

Both serve a purpose in my life. lol

what do you mean by "club oriented email"? And why not just give out your email to your friends instead?

It's a club because the people are on a buddy list.... AND there's more incentive to use MySpace rather than regular email. You have a sight where you can check for messages and then check out nifty little profiles (like mine).

It's a total Matrix. It really is.
