Tomorrow should be fun - it's the 'Great Books for Kids' conference in Baltimore and I get to go. :D It will be interesting to see how other librarians evaluate books for kids. I think the hardest part for me was to get my mindset to be like a childs (stop snickering, I can hear you!). What I mean is, I was reading some of the J-Fic and the YA books and getting annoyed because of one thing or another, and then I wasn't sure if it was because I wasn't the target demographic or just the book.

But anyway that is tomorrow.

I checked out the Liberty Meadows book from the library. I hadn't read that strip in FOREVER. the cartoonist, Frank Cho, is a maryland boy, so it was sort of a big deal when he was in the newspaper each week. But since I dont' get a newspaper now, I sort of forgot about how looney the strip is. He does draw hot ladies though, Brandy is pretty. Only one appearance of 'Frank the Chimp' in this book, so I ordered the next volume thru Marina (our inter-state loan system) in hopes of seeing Monkey Boy! haha. Goodtimes. From the look of his website, it sounds like he went from a weekly strip to comic book format. I should look for that when I'm at the store!

Speaking of comics, [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy made this cool little animated Penny Arcade strip for his MySpace page (yes, I am mocking him for pimpin' his 'Space). I stole it and put it in my userinfo because it's such a classic strip. I shall share it here because everyone likes to laugh with Gabe and Tycho!

i hear that. [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy bought their first book and it's so fun to read the old comics and see how much they have changed (though the humor is the same)

yeah, I won't deny those problems associated with MySpace. I often get the "Sorry we were unable to load this myspace page becasue well, Tom is an ass and is more interested in how many different advertisers he can get to invest in this page, so really he's too busy being corporate to deal with your petty myspace problems. page"
