Tomorrow should be fun - it's the 'Great Books for Kids' conference in Baltimore and I get to go. :D It will be interesting to see how other librarians evaluate books for kids. I think the hardest part for me was to get my mindset to be like a childs (stop snickering, I can hear you!). What I mean is, I was reading some of the J-Fic and the YA books and getting annoyed because of one thing or another, and then I wasn't sure if it was because I wasn't the target demographic or just the book.
But anyway that is tomorrow.
I checked out the Liberty Meadows book from the library. I hadn't read that strip in FOREVER. the cartoonist, Frank Cho, is a maryland boy, so it was sort of a big deal when he was in the newspaper each week. But since I dont' get a newspaper now, I sort of forgot about how looney the strip is. He does draw hot ladies though, Brandy is pretty. Only one appearance of 'Frank the Chimp' in this book, so I ordered the next volume thru Marina (our inter-state loan system) in hopes of seeing Monkey Boy! haha. Goodtimes. From the look of his website, it sounds like he went from a weekly strip to comic book format. I should look for that when I'm at the store!
Speaking of comics,
jimithingy made this cool little animated Penny Arcade strip for his MySpace page (yes, I am mocking him for pimpin' his 'Space). I stole it and put it in my userinfo because it's such a classic strip. I shall share it here because everyone likes to laugh with Gabe and Tycho!
