*shakes first at Lucasarts president*
May. 11th, 2006 11:42 pmOkay, first of all, I think Lucasarts is focusing on the wrong thing with their new games. He kept telling us about "new technology" that would make these games so great - the new technology is:
some sort of program that gives each character AI so that when Indy punches 3 guys in the gut, all 3 of them will react in different ways. Interesting, but really, means nothing if the game is shite.
He also talked about some new code that will be in the star wars game - does it let you use lightsabers? Does it let you pilot an xwing? - No. It lets you break boxes in a million different ways! Watch as the wood shatters differently every time! OH YES!
Then, when the G4 interviewer asked if there was any hope of us seeing the adventure games that Lucasarts made so well back in the day return to our new systems, and he said no. He said they only want to do new things (or star wars things) and that those games are of the past (the "golden age"...I mean if you're gonna relive an age, relive that one ya moron!).
He actually likened a Monkey Island & Day of the Tentacle re-releases to the Bewitched & Dukes of Hazzard movie remakes! That bastard!
If I ever meet him, I'm going to kick him.
hard.

Date: 2006-05-12 04:34 pm (UTC)this guy has only been president of Lucasarts for 2 years now...Maybe after working a few more years on nothing but star wars games, he will finally realize why Monkey Island and Maniac Mansion were so awesome.

What a poop-mouth!
I love everything about Monkey Island. And it's time for that 5th in the series to get worked on and be released, as was mentioned in the 4th game. lol
