didn't know about that feature...
Jan. 1st, 2007 03:09 pmwe went over to a friend's place last night and there was absolutely no parking in the designated parking areas. So they said I could park my mini at the front of their garage. This would be the first attempt at parallel parking. This is also how I found out that my Mini has a sensor in the rear that beeps when you start back into something.
It starts at about...oh...5 feet. A solid, steady beep...beep...beep
Then as you get closer, the beep speeds up ala a heart moniter. To the point that, when you've got 1 1/2 - 2 feet worth of space, the beep turns into a steady "beeeeeeeeeeep" and freaks you out. It's like Beaker is in the back of my car screaming at me to stop!
Needless to say, it can make parallel parking a bit nerve wracking. Though this will help when it comes to avoiding small children or animals, I suppose.
Anyhoozit, even though I've sort of missed the window, HAPPY NEW YEAR everybody!
oh, and also HAPPY BIRTHDAY to
maybemanda!!!!
