k, I'm a little more awake now...

orangerfulSo, the concert last night was a lot of fun! It was my first time at Rams Head Live and I really thought it was a cool venue. The show was sold out so the place was PACKED but since we got there insanely early (by accident, I thought there would be SOME traffic at 5:30 on a Tuesday!) we were able to stake out a fantastic spot right in front. Al opened with the polka medley from the 'Lynnwood', running the real music videos for each song on the big screen. Then he went into Canadian Idiot. He's such a spaz! It's great. Everyone in his band always looks like their having so much fun!
Highlights of the show included:
'You're Pitiful' - Al came on stage in the James Blunt outfit from the video...then proceded to strip down bit by bit, verse by verse revealing nerdier and geekier t-shirts underneath. And at the final phrase, he dropped his pants to reveal...heart boxers, a pink tutu, and fishnet stockings!
"Fat" - because he was in the fat suit and that never ceases to crack me up. (And when he screamed "HOooooooo!" one of his stage hands (male, not very skinny) came ou in a tight short skirt and lots of make-up carrying a gardening implement. hehe. Oh visual puns!
"The Really Really Long Medley" - in an attempt to at least get a couple seconds of every song performed, Al did a nice long medley in the middle of the show that started with 'couch potato' and went into 'do I creep you out' 'i'm in love with the skipper' 'spiderman' 'ebay' and lots of other tv/movie related ones.
"Saga Begins" and "Yoda" - the audience sang the loudest here. To the point that Al was practically overpowered even with the sound system. Star Wars even makes the geekiest shying people sing their hearts out.
"White & Nerdy" - Al did a little dance on his segway in the beginning. And there were random images of Donny Osmond dancing on the big screen during the song. Teehee!
All in all, a good night! And I got my 'white and nerdy' t-shirt!
