It has to be very weird being the Queen. People complain that the Royals are out of touch with reality, but how could she ever be in touch? She comments that she knows what the people of England are like, but how can she know what modern society is when she lives in a bubble, surrounded by a culture that was created centuries ago? It's like she lives in a time capsule.
Anyway, the movie was great. You really are forced to see the ordeal from several different perspectives. There are no villians or heroes, it's just life. That's what made a movie that should have been insanely dull so captivating.

At least, I remember when the Queen finally addressed the people, and that it was a big deal because everyone thought she had reacted so coldly up to that point. Maybe you were just too young then to remember it, missy. :-)
