calling my comic fanboys/girls
Jul. 3rd, 2007 07:10 pmI noticed that the library seems to have purchased the trades of Marvel's "Civil War" series.
What's the deal with those? Are they worth reading? Will I understand what's going on if I'm not a hardcore Marvel person?
I see Mark Millar's name, which I recognize but I'm not sure if I've actually read anything by him.
I'm definitley checking out "Road to Civil War" because it says Brian Michael Bendis wrote one of the arcs, and that's a name I can trust!

What else is there?
Yeah, they're worth your time, and you will probably get it, even if you haven't been reading. Everybody's in the dark on this one, because they throw out so many obscure characters whose backstories you don't need to know. If you know Spider-Man, Captain America, and Iron Man, you pretty much have all the backstories you need to get started.
