and in real life....
Jul. 19th, 2007 12:06 amI can't believe I get paid for this stuff. I love my job.
Today we had a "Teens Only" program at our library -- "Juggling and other ways of Clowning Around". Nick Newlin and Joanne Flynn of the NicoloWhimsey show hosted the event. They are regular Summer Reading Club performers, but this was the first time they had done a teen program at our branch.
It was so much fun! They taught us how to juggle, spin plates on sticks, and walk on stilts! We had 8 teens come into the program, 4 of them were Volunteens but that didn't matter! I was in charge of the program so I got to stay in the room! The teens were hilarious, tottering around on the stilts, juggling while running across the room, and one of them was a whiz at balancing the spinning plate. In the end, I had such a blast, that I bought 3 juggling balls for my own amusement. I'll probably bring them to the Harry Potter campout on Friday and practice while we're outside.
I know that
heiland_coo took at least one picture of me attempting to juggle. I will have to post that tomorrow after I have uploaded them at work.
