JOSS IS COMING BACK TO TV! (eventually)

He's making a new show called "Dollhouse" starring none other than her hotness, Miss Eliza Dushku! It will be on FOX (yuck!) but they have signed on for a 7 episode deal already, which means when it is cancelled, the "complete series" set will be really cheap!

No wait, what I mean is, FOX is trying to show some good will and get us all exicted nice and early so when they crush our souls, then we will just die.

AH! No, stay positive! Joss! TV! 2008! YAY!

Writers strike might slow things down though.

DAMMIT!

In the "I Love my Fandom" category - since the announcement this afternoon, the unmade tv show already has a fansite, myspace, facebook, and livejournal group up and running (and yes, I've joined all of them). It's a beautiful thing.

This is good news, because The Office SUCKED tonight. It was like someone was trying to copy License to Wed by making JK's character the victim of over-the-top borderline abusive and unfunny characters, while he remains maddeningly passive. Hello! I'll stop calling a cab like any sane person would do (before quiting the next day) and get back in your car, dress up in a ridiculous outfit and trust you, for no apparent reason, not to humiliate me further because that's the only way to stop you from throwing explosives as a prank?? What happened to getting as far away from these people as possible and then calling the police? Dear god. Don't they realize that License to Wed *bombed* because people couldn't stand exactly that type of set-up?

Bring on the writers' strike! And then bring in new writers!

LOL, ouch. Well, Joss was directing but I don't think he wrote the script, so we won't blame him. The episode had its moments but it was just so ridiculous. Dwight may be weird but he's not insane to the point of actually harming someone! Michael should be fired for the whole thing. And Jim...well that was really stupid of him though I thought he was just going to come along to keep them from doing what they ended up doing. Weird weird.

Oops! Was that the episode Joss directed? My point was more, bring back Joss because whoever was involved w/the Office this week sucked. Little did I know it was Joss! Has he written any of the Office eps, or just directed?

I'm sure the show will be fantastic, but I'm afraid of FOX and their lack of commitment to anything that doesn't grab viewers within the first 3 episodes.

perhaps the show will have a far right political slant. thats a guaranteed 5 seasons

if thats the case, maybe they'll run reruns after bill o'reilly on the foxnews channel as well

Yeah, I hope there is some sort of "don't be stupid with my show" clause in Joss' contract! Something along the lines of "You must air my pilot FIRST, you must air the rest of the episodes in ORDER, you must air these episodes at the same time each week, you may not run 3 episodes in a row and pretend it is a "special premiere" and then cancel the show after the 4th because no on watched"

But I'm not bitter or anything ;)

I heard about this! Oh man.

I hope it does well. I feel the same way with Fox. THEY SUCK. At least it has a 7 episode commitment, I didn't know that until I read the interview. Something to look forward to! Yay!

btw, is Drive ever coming out on DVD do you know?

I haven't heard anything about 'Drive'. They only made as many episodes as were released, so it doesn't even have an "end". Grrrrr.
