So, I was sitting in Chick-Fil-A on my lunch break, eating a somewhat gross sandwich and reading Lowis Lowry's "The Giver". One of the employees walks past me and stops.

Him: "That is the best book ever."
Me: "I haven't read it since 6th grade, I don't remember any of it, that's why I'm reading it now."
Him: "I love that book. I read it once a year, every year."

I love books.

What book would make you stop and talk to a stranger?

LOL, okay, how about what book that is not a tv tie-in?

Oh, and I have to tell you, our library has a copy of one of the 'Supernatural' novels. It was in our spinner rack and I could see Sam and Dean staring at me when I would walk by and all I could think was "[livejournal.com profile] impalalove would be so proud that we own that."

Okay; then. *muses*

Oh, Blackfly Season. I personally love it. Oh, Fire Bringer. Caused me to stay up all night for the first time reading a book; before Harry Potter came along, honestly.

Oh, definitely. *wicked grin*

*writes down all the titles*

Oh, and someone told me about a book the other day, called 'Nightlife', and when they described the plot it sounded very similar to 'Supernatural' - 2 brothers, hunting demons except they are in NYC. But, you know, if the writers strike puts your boys on hiatus, you can always read that and pretend it's them ;)

I have never read The Giver.

But let's see... Harry Potter. Probably Black Hawk Down, In the Company of Heroes, Night Stalkers, or another Military-history type book I've read. And then maybe Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging or any of the books in that series.

I have the 'angus, thongs...' series on my to-read list. Actually we have it as a book on CD at the library and [livejournal.com profile] heiland_coo said it was really funny to listen to.

and why do I not have a book related icon??

The first "Angus..." book is the best, but they're all hilarious because they're stories from the author's childhood, except for the stuff about Memphis--that's all from her experiences on her book tour here. It was hilarious hearing her talk about how much Delilah traumatized her...
